Jessi posts a question:
I’m going to be potentially making a huge move (both in terms of physical location and mental/emotional steps in life) at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year. That’s a long way in the future, though, so my focus is about what’s going on currently. Is my current planning in line with the big change later? Or maybe rather….”am I on the right path to what I’m striving for?” although that begins to generalize it again. You get the idea, lol.
The Tarot is supporting Jessi’s statement of big changes, with two Major Arcana and a Court Card (a King, no less) in this three card reading!
The Sun in the present shows you are setting the stage for this move, you view it as a positive development in your life.
The presence of the Star in the second slot (Near Future) shows that you will begin developing your talents, using your intuition to guide you on your journey. As an 8 card, the Star shows things moving well, completing one stage of a project to move on to the long-term stage. Continue doing what you’re doing, but remain *aware* of it…take time for spirituality and meditation. Maybe even pull out that deck of tarot cards you own and begin studying it again. Changes of residence are possible with an 8 card.
The Outcome, the King of Cups, shows that you’ll be moving to a job, and an environment, where you can permit your true, compassionate self to shine. You’ll get the help you need to make this next stage in your life a sucess.
Overall, a positive reading that shows the universe will give you what you need, but you also have the strength, compassion and skills to take advantage of it. Maybe “skills” isn’t the right word–more like intuition to know what needs to be done, and diplomacy and compassion to get it done.
Good luck, Jessi! Please let us know how things progress over the next few months.
Miss Michele’s throw for the day is the Chariot. Yet another Seven, showing I’m in a similar phase, but that things are perhaps, more ready to come to fruition with a significant step in the right direction.
It shows I need the courage and determination to finish the task at hand, and, with completion, will reap rewards in the form of feelings of accomplishment.
I’m still trying to figure out how yesterday’s card manifested. My best guess is that by being aware of the day’s energies, I was able to avoid battles of wills or stand-offs. Even in situations where I was expecting a fight, things went exceedingly well.
I faced only one situation where pride came in to play, and managed to put my feelings aside to handle the situation in a professional manner.

Perhaps it has to do with the stock market and the economic climate, or maybe it’s plain old “writerly” doubt, but Miss Michele had an uneasy feeling that things were going too well lately!
The tarot is perfect for pinpointing the source of these intuitive flashes, so Miss Michele asked a targeted question for her daily throw.
“What forces could prevent me from being as successful as I want to be today?”
After multiple cards (all potentially relevant) fell out of the deck, Miss Michele decided she was just being sloppy, stopped, focused, and pulled a card.
The Seven of Wands.
This card indicates a battle of wills, pride in action, and competition from unexpected sources. I may realize I am not as good as I think I am (today) or I may simply become overwhelmed by all on my plate and feel like I’m not doing as well as other freelancers in my position.
Misdirected competition has been a theme in my life lately, and I wonder if that won’t manifest in more than one area today?
The tarot advises me to be ready for the battle, muster the courage and the strength to persevere, focus and get it done! Financial rewards may not come immediately, but I am in an important growth stage right now.
Today’s card is the Three of Wands, indicating the start of a venture, where all the ducks are in a row and the first phase has been completed to great success.
More than the predictive quality of a daily throw, Miss Michele believes the daily card often gets her thinking about themes and trends she’s already aware of. If that’s the case, today’s card could not be more appropriate.
Miss Michele is working today on a fully-loaded G5 PowerMac, property of RECON Magazine. It was more of a challenge than you might think to find a wireless card for the computer, but now that it’s installed, the machine gives her a lot more flexibility for a number of products. Best of all, she can switch back to her laptop whenever she wants a change of scenery (ie, kitchen v. home office.)
The Three of Rods shows a person looking out into the horizon with no fear, anxious to begin the journey that awaits. He knows he has the tools to make his dreams come true and can’t wait to find out what’s on the opposite shore.
It’s a truly wonderful feeling!
Quick note, readers: You have just over a week left to get your 12-month spread for the low, low price of $10. The new format makes ordering easy, so what are you waiting for?
Mrs. Cogan requests a five-card spread and asks:
I just launched two new directions with my writing. I’m entering every contest I can (I’m a semifinalist in the Amazon.com novel contest!) and I’ve started blogging seriously. I basically need to know if I’m going in the right direction.

Heart of the Matter – The Hanged Man in the past/heart of the matter slot shows Mrs. Cogan’s writing career at a standstill. She knew she needed to find a new direction, new perspective and different goals before things take off.
Near Future – Strength – It’s not easy, and her new writing direction won’t meet with success right away, but Mrs. Cogan has the strength of character to push ahead.
Hidden Influences – The Universe has many opportunities in store for Mrs. Cogan, exemplified in the Knight of Cups. Her best assets as she pursues her writing career are her feminine traits: intuition, kindness, gentleness. This is supported in nearly all the cards in the reading, other than the Hanged Man. As she moves out of the phase of “wondering what to do, waiting for the next opportunity” she is embracing her feminine strengths.
Tarot’s Advice – The Ace of Cups – The card of new beginnings, this card clearly tells Miss Michele that Mrs. Cogan has selected the right path, and that she should grasp the opportunities offered to her!
Possible Outcome – The Sun – Her new pursuits will lead to a chance for greater creative expression, personal fulfillment and happiness. Number 19 of the Major Arcana, the Sun corresponds to a “10,” the fulfillment of a cycle.
Overview: Two cups in what should be a question about career shows that, while Mrs. Cogan won’t get rich from her new pursuits, she will find greater fulfillment and more time for her family. Sometimes, that’s more important than material gain. However, the lack of Wands or Pentacles show Mrs. Cogan may lack some of the drive and ambition to take her business where she really wants it to go, financially. She’s got more important things on her mind. She’s still “dabbling,” (emotionally, if not in reality) but opportunities are coming up, nonetheless, and there’s potential to carve herself a nice little niche.
Three Major Arcana show Mrs. Cogan is in a major life change right now, and Miss Michele suspects it may have a lot more to do with personal relationships and children than with business. Something more important than career is on Mrs. Cogan’s mind right now, and the Tarot is seeing that. Additionally, her writing pursuits could turn into a much bigger decision than she suspects, putting her on the path to major (and very, very positive!) changes!
