Archive for the ‘Five-Card Spread’ Category

This is an interesting question, as the tarot typically doesn’t excel in revealing specifics like this and Miss Michele is no super-sleuth, but an intuitive tarot reader. However, when we drew the cards, (Serenity Bly was on hand as well) we gained some insight into both the querent AND the thief that will help Christie move forward.

The Past: King of Pentacles

This shows the hard work, diligence and discipline Christie had to save the money. She was focused on her goal and doing very well with it.

The Present: Five of Pentacles

This card, the archetypal “poverty card,” shows that Christie not only feels impoverished now, but betrayed. That person stole not only money, but her faith and a certain level of her idealism. She feels betrayed and has even lost faith in humanity. The person in crutches in the image in the Rider-Waite tarot deck tells us that Christie has been letting this cripple her in a number of ways. Mostly, it’s hurt her relationships with those she suspects.

The Near Future: Page of Cups

This card actually gives insight into the “who.” It is someone too immature to know better, to know how deeply their actions really affected Christie. The person took it as a folly, not knowing how important it really was. At the same time, this card is telling Christie to let it go… recapture that idealism. “Don’t worry, be happy.” The Page of Cups is a new beginning, emotionally, and his cup is full, as hers will be again.

The Tarot’s Advice: Seven of Pentacles

This card indicates she’ll have to work hard once again to reap the fruits of her labor, but she will do it.

Best Course of Action: Ace of Wands

Christie’s best course of action is just to let this go and rebuild what was lost. Whoever did it, it didn’t mean that much to them. She’s giving them too much power over herself, her thoughts and feelings, by harping on it. The Ace of Wands is yet another card of new beginnings, full speed ahead. It also indicates, to some degree, success and speed. Christie, you’ll get your birthday money back. More importantly, your faith in humanity will be re-stored.

Ed requested a general five-card spread.

Without having a question or specific area to read, Miss Michele focused on Ed’s energy and drew cards. Not surprisingly, there is overlap between this reading and his 6-card L-for-Love spread that help us provide further guidance for Ed in multiple areas of his life.

Past – The High Priestess – In Miss Michele’s Hanson-Roberts Deck, the High Priestess is a stern, no-nonsense type of woman. It seems that a past relationship – likely with his mother but possibly a romantic relationship – has created conflicting emotions in Ed about the opposite sex. While he finds himself attracted to strong women, at the same time, he feels a need to diminish their strength by dominating them. The High Priestess in the past wanted nothing to do with this, cutting herself off emotionally and leaving Ed to struggle with a lack of feminine affection in his life.

Near Future / Present –Strength – This continues to be an ongoing theme in Ed’s life as he seeks to find his own inner strength.

Tarot’s Advice / Unseen Factors – Seven of Cups – Ed may have a “pie-in-the-sky,” somewhat unrealistic view of what is possible in his future given his current personality traits, desires, habits and typical courses of action. However, it never hurts to dream. What the tarot asks now is: How can you best turn these fantasies into reality? What needs to take place inside to manifest the future you want?

Best Course of Action – The Magician – The answer comes clearly in our next card; Ed’s best course of action is to study. The Magician is a master manipulator (in the most positive sense!) to use his knowledge, powers, and intuition to get what he wants. Learning self-control, and then control of the tools he has at his disposal can put the world at Ed’s fingertips. The Number One Major Arcana in the deck, The Magician, like Ed, is just beginning this journey.

Possible Outcome – Three of Pentacles – In this spread, the final card is not so much a final outcome as evidence of a continuing journey. If Ed first follows the path of the Magician, abandoning old habits that don’t serve him to find new and better ways of living and relating to others, he will continue on a road to self-improvement. The Magician reminds us to use all resources available in our self-growth. Ed may consider help in the form of coaching or counseling as he progresses on his journey. Whether he chooses to go it alone or seek guidance, it will be work, but anything worth having is worth working for and Ed will soon begin to see the fruits of his labor in positive changes in his romantic life, career and finances.

A freelance writer, Diedre, wants to know:

“Will my latest eBook venture be successful?”

There aren’t many surprises in Diedre’s Five-Card Spread. Diedre, an established freelancer, is also a smart businesswoman. She knows what she has to do, and what it takes for her to achieve success. The client on the eBook project has worked with Diedre in the past; the two make a good team, as shown by several cards in this spread.

Past: The Five of Swords: The Five of Swords represents influences passing out of Diedre’s life. Freelance writing has been a rocky business of late. She’s encountered a few clients who were less than straightforward. And though she’s emerged victorious, she’s been selling herself short in many instances. She’s received the “spoils of war,” and towered over her competition, but she’s yet to reach the next rung of her career.

Present: The Magician: In other spreads (Diedre is a frequent Wednesday morning customer of Future-Tarot’s Tarot Chat at The Echo of One) the Magician has represented Diedre’s client, another entrepreneur Diedre has worked with several times. The Magician in this position reinforces that Diedre is making the right choice in working with this bright young woman, who has the skills, knowledge and wherewithal to promote and market the eBook for maximum success.

Tarot’s Advice: The Six of Cups: The Tarot’s advice often shows us areas that we may not be aware of. In this case, the card is reminding Diedre to go back to her roots – basic writing skills – to make the eBook the best it can be. While Web writing tends to suffer from time constraints and low pay rates, Diedre needs to approach this project from a standpoint of it being her passion, and provide quality work worthy of any top-name print publication. With every keystroke, she needs to remember she is living her dream, being paid to write.

Best Course of Action: The Three of Pentacles: The Three of Pentacles, the “Work card” in this slot offers no surprises. Writing and publishing the eBook will require hard work on the part of all participants, and especially for Deidre. But she has the skills and knows her craft — it will be hard work, but she will often find herself in the “flow” or the “zone,” that time where words spring effortless from her fingertips as she is completely focused on the task. The “three” also indicates that working with the client will be a good business venture, balanced – an effective partnership.

Final Outcome: The Four of Rods: The final outcome looks propitious, but this will not be a life-changing business venture. The only Major Arcana in this spread, the Magician, represents the client, showing what a powerful force she will be in the creation of the product. Rather than just a client, she will be a true partner in this venture; sharing ideas, feedback, and sparking Diedre’s creativity. The Four of Rods tells of a celebration—the eBook will achieve moderate success, perhaps ultimately paying for something Diedre would like but hasn’t had the means to afford. Overall, it’s a wise endeavor and a stepping stone to bigger things.

Life has been hectic lately! I’ve picked up a part time job in addition to everything else I’ve been up to. So I decided to do a spread to get an idea of what I’m in for this week. Originally posted by Llewellyn’s New World, the What’s in Your Bag? spread by Barbara Moore is a unique spread that shows you what you have to work with throughout your day or week. Today I tried it out with my Gilded Tarot.

What’s In Your Bag?

1…2
………5
3…4

1) This will be very useful. – Knight of Pentacles

Now is a time to build up my defenses, as this sturdy knight suggests. I will have his strength and fortitude, holding up my position in life. Nothing will get through my defenses, as long as I stand my ground and face whatever comes my way. I will be able to stand firm, against the barrage of the world. Even his horse is on guard, as the knight faces one way, and his horse faces the other. I won’t have to face everything alone, as my family will always be on my side.

2) This will come in handy. – Three of Pentacles

My ability to work hard and forge the life I want will be apparent this week. Like the studious craftsman in this card, I will carefully craft every pentacle I earn. No matter how lofty my dreams are, nothing will happen unless I put in the hard work to see them through. This card can also stand for working with others, and I am quite happy with my new job. I like all of my co-workers, and they have been very helpful as well.

3) This you won’t need. – Knight of Wands

In this position, I see the story of the tortoise and the hare, and this knight is the hare! While vibrant energy has its place, this week I won’t have to plow through the front lines to reach my goals. Slow and steady will win the race. I have to be careful not to get carried away, and lose all of my energy. A horse cannot gallop for long periods of time, and neither can I! I must measure out my energy carefully throughout the week.

4) This will weight you down. – Nine of Wands

This card tells the story of the wounded soldier who is still battling against all odds. He is defending his position too, but is weighed down by his past failures. I have to let go of the past, and focus on the future. There comes a point in life where I have nursed my wounds as much as possible, and have to let them heal naturally. Resting too much leads to muscle entropy, and wallowing in past defeats brings an endless cycle of reliving the pain. Once I have let go, I will be free to continue on my path in life.

5) You forgot this! – King of Swords

I do tend to forget this excellent king! He rules mental clarity and thought, and I am not a thought-oriented person. He rules his kingdom with logic and facts, and I would do well to remember his lessons this week. I need to carefully consider each option, and let my normally emotional nature be tempered by right thinking. When I can strike the right balance, I will succeed.

Overall, this week will have a lot of accomplishments, although I will need to remain patient. My hard work will pay off, as long as my emotions don’t flare up and I can control my thoughts. Time to take life one day at a time!

Jennie Dee asks: Is it possible to give a prediction of when I might get pregnant/give birth?

Miss Michele has a pretty good track record when it comes to predicting pregnancy… to Jennie Dee, right now, she answers, “Not yet, but soon.” Miss Michele can’t provide, in this reading, an exact month or time frame, but she can offer an if–> then / cause and effect statement. When the factors outlined in the reading fall into place, conception will occur.

The Magician in the past shows a new beginning… the decision being made to try to conceive. Jennie took stock in her health, made positive changes, and began tracking her cycles closely. She knows she is in charge of her own destiny, so she began preparing herself, her body, her life and relationship for a child.

The near future shows more preparation in the Ace of Rods. This also shows fertility and virility. Jennie hasn’t conceived yet, but it’s not for lack of trying. She and her partner, however, are taking this in stride, keeping the magic and passion in their relationship, and not looking at baby-making as a “chore.”

Factors Jennie may not be seeing, or might be hidden, are shown in the Page of Swords. There may have been a few false alarms, perhaps even a chemical pregnancy. The baby will come when Jennie least expects it. There are still some delays, however. They may even come in the form of minor physical issues.

As time goes on, the situation will get more frustrating. Jennie will begin to worry. This is shown in the Nine of Cups, the Tarot’s spiritual guidance. The more you worry and stress, the less likely you will be to conceive. Certainly, get everything checked out to make sure you’re in good health, but the prognosis is good. Stop worrying and it will happen.

The Final Outcome is shown in the King of Rods. While not a card of fertility that makes Miss Michele say Jennie will get pregnant “very, very soon,” all the factors are in place that it will happen, and it won’t take “forever.” Jennie will hit that low spot with her health, worries, stress… and just when she gets over that bump and relaxes, that’s when it will happen. As the King of Rods showcases Jennie’s partner’s personality, it’s likely that the more Jennie stresses, the less open he will be to pregnancy. He likes surprises, and he may very well be telling Jennie to relax, because it will happen. He will keep the romance and spontaneity alive. Relax and enjoy the entire process, because it will happen soon enough!

Thank you, Jennie, for giving us the opportunity to read for you and for your donation to Support a Miracle.

For the month of September, all proceeds go to benefit Mysti and Simon Gabriel, a preemie born at 24 weeks gestation. (In fact, Miss Michele predicted Simon’s month of conception in a 13-card, one-year spread!)
