Celtic Cross Spread

Your Present Self
The first card of the spread begins in the center with your current self. This card considers where you are right now in this situation and your present approach in life. This is who you are in this specific situation and is a grounding card allowing us to connect with you and come to know you as a foundation for the cards that follow.
The Crossing Card
Blocking your present self, the Crossing Card is the second in the Celtic Cross and indicates conflict and obstruction that prevents your present self from having the power to act in the full integrity of itself. This is card often shows any challenges you are currently facing and often indicates your reasons for requesting the Tarot’s insight.
The Crowning Card
As we step away from the self, with the third card placed above the first two, we come to see what is so about the present situation as far as you’re currently aware. The crowning card lays out a truth and the situation to date as it has been and brings to light any aspect you may need to consider more carefully.
Aspects You Cannot See
Also known as the Base of the Matter, the fourth card in the Celtic Cross sits beneath the other three. This card offers insight into aspects of the situation of which you are not currently aware. This is often news which you may receive in the near future that can impact the course of events unfolding or things that might be going on behind your back or without your knowledge.
Influences That Are Ending
Showing aspects that have just ended or are currently ending the past influences card, in the fifth position sits to the right of the first card. This card precedes the sixth creating a sense of motion between what has been happening with what is to come.
Influences That Are Beginning
To the left of the first card we have future influences, aspects, events, or people who are coming into the situation. This often shows motion and movement as, having seen aspects passing out of influence with the fifth card we now see what the near future will bring.
Attitudes You Need To Change
Dealing entirely with the Self and closely tied to the first card the seventh card focuses on attitudes of the querent that may be hindering the situation. This card shows us a single aspect of the self which needs to be considered and gives the querent insight into aspects of the self which need to be focused on for growth and development.
How Other See You
Closely related to the seventh card the eighth represents how those around you see you and the situation you are in. Often what others see is not necessarily what is so and it can be important to bring the impression and actuality into harmony. Sometimes, others see the situation more clearly or from a different, removed, perspective allowing another point-of-view.
Your Hopes and Fears
It is interesting how closely tied our hopes are to our fears. This ninth card represents either a hope, a fear, or both tied together. These hopes and fears often impact how we handle a situation and being aware of your hopes and fears can empower your actions.
Potential Outcome
With an eye to the future, the potential outcome indicates how the situation look may look in several months time based on the current situation. We believe outcomes can change based on current action and foresight but having this potential outcome brought to light empowers the querent to take action to aid or avoid the present course.
