[Serenity Bly] What’s your question, Violet?

[violet] I am feeling a little stagnant in terms of personal growth. I don’t know how far I am progressing and I don’t know what is in the way of progressing further. Maybe it’s myself… That doesn’t sound like a question. lol

[Serenity Bly] I get it though. :-)

[violet] Thanks.

[Miss Michelle] What’s holding you back? Is the question in my assessment. And it’s a good one.

[Serenity Bly] “How can violet move forward?” Because I like to deal in positives not negatives. We don’t need to know what your block is, we need to know how to get you over it. So, lets see what the Tarot advises.

[violet] Yeah. I guess so, and where I currently stand in terms of how far I wish to progress. Yes!

[Serenity Bly] The words that come to mind is “bitch mode” *chuckles* This means more to me than it might to you. The Queen of Cups in the past shows that you’ve been very clingy with your emotions. You’ve let them dominate your choices. Letting the heart lead and sometimes forgetting to include the head. The present Queen of Pentacles shows a complete flip. You’re leading with your head (or rather following the money) but sometimes that means you leave your heart behind. The future Four of Cups indicates others having too much influence over you because of this lack of balance.

[Miss Michelle] That’s also a card of reaping what you’ve sown… enjoying the fruits of your work. The fact that these are all minor arcana shows us that it is ALL inside you to change this, Violet. You have all these aspects in your personality… let them share time. You ARE the queen.

[violet] Aw. Really? It feels like I am not taking on the leading role.

[Miss Michelle] That’s what you need to do, or you’ll wind up with that four of cups in the future. You CAN. You just need to take it. I’d even say that others are WAITING for you to. They see you as the queen.

[Serenity Bly] You’ve got your head and heart into conflict and, as such, don’t know what to think or feel. And the message that came was “bitch mode” which to me is a case of “doing what you feel like and stuff what anyone else thinks.” In my world, “bitch mode” is about 36 hours of me running roughshod over everyone. Being an utter b.i.t.c.h. because the world IS what I want and everyone else better fall into line. So what I feel like it saying is that YOU need to take that bossy role, to MAKE your path, to be demanding and pushy and make everyone else do what YOU want. Don’t let others manipulate you, your choices, or your opinions. Tell THEM what you expect from them and make sure they do as they’re told.

[violet] You mean be slightly more demanding?

[Serenity Bly] Not slightly. Demanding. Embrace your inner bitch. Bring your two Queens (or really all four of them) together. Stand up for YOU; rule your roost. And stop kneeling at the feet of others.

[Miss Michelle] Just take charge of whatever situation it is.

[violet] I am happy to invest my time and lend a helping hand for others. I wouldn’t really want to rely on another person to help me and I wouldn’t ask for help. I have learned to not have expectations of others instead, being hopeful so I do not really see a point in demanding of others?

[Serenity Bly] Then be demanding of yourself. Because your expectations for others to rise to their full potential. If you “hope” then you give permission for them (and yourself) to be less than they really are. Not having expectations, gives the universe and everyone in it room to negotiate with what you want and deserve. That’s why you NEED to take the Queen role. The Queen can be kind and giving, but SHE makes the law, and her community revolves under her hand. This reading shows that you have it in you to take that stand.

[violet] Oh! Thanks, Serenity! I guess I am slacking in terms of demanding more of myself lately.

[Miss Michelle] There’s NOTHING stopping you but yourself.

[violet] Thanks, Miss Michele! I am too influenced by others, in a way.

[Miss Michelle] You let others influence you, yet have no expectations of them… it seems one-sided. That’s something I struggle with, too, Violet. Taking charge. Even when it’s expected of me because of my role/position. But people want, need, and expect it. And when you exude that confidence, they will listen. And it doesn’t HAVE to be about being bossy so much as authoritative.

[Serenity Bly] Don’t forget, that a weak Queen will destroy her kingdom. A community NEEDS a strong leader, one who can make up their own mind and see through their choices. Without it they stagnate and ultimately crumble. So, if you can’t choose to take the role for yourself, take it for the people around you that need you to guide them. It’s also about putting aside “victim mode.” Take responsibility for your choices and know that you control your path.

[Miss Michelle] I’ve also seen diplomacy and poise work well.

[violet] It seems to me people will start giving me the grease for being too opinionated.

[Miss Michelle] It’s not about having an opinion just to have one. It’s about having the courage of your convictions and the self-confidence to get things done.

[Serenity Bly] So it’s not about being a “bitch” it’s about taking control of yourself and leading with a clear mind about what you want and being willing to guide others. Think of it more as embracing your inner Queens. Queens understand diplomacy and tact.

[violet] Oh. Thanks!

[Miss Michelle] People will NOT be upset with you if you take a leadership role in situations you know well. Or make demands (in a polite way) for things you deserve.

[violet] I guess I have been working my way around other people’s plans I am falling behind of mine!

[Miss Michelle] Yes. YOU need to put you first, because no one else will. ;)

[violet] Yes, yes! I should! :)

[Miss Michelle] But, when you do, you’ll actually find others start to as well (if that makes sense) because you are showing you are deserving of it.

[Serenity Bly] And the term “bitch” in the positive sense is about knowing yourself and acting from a self-empowered core.

[violet] There is a bitch in a positive sense? Wow. Thanks, Miss Michele and Serenity, for the reading.

[Miss Michelle] “Babe In Total Control of Herself” was the phrase we used in high school. You’re welcome!

Jenny was twiddling her thumbs, waiting for her baby girl to get the action started when she saw our tweet announcing Tarot Chat. On a burst of intuition she decided to visit with us and was eager to find out what the Tarot wanted to share with our special Wednesday Tarot Chat’s free live three-card tarot readings. Find out what the Tarot revealed to Jenny and join us this week at 9.30pm EST Wednesday for another great Tarot Chat session.

[Jenny] Do I have to have a question or is general ok? (I have a question if i need one but would rather trust your intuition and what i may *need* to know rather than want to know.)

[Miss Michele] Normally, we prefer a question but something tells me if you’re asking us to trust our intuition, that’s what’s meant to happen.

[Jenny] My intuition brought me here tonight and *surprise* you are someone I trust.

[Miss Michele] OMG I just realized you’re here… you haven’t had the baby yet. I know…slow on the uptake.

[Jenny] Nope. No baby yet.

[Miss Michele] Okay, none of these cards surprise me in the least. I just hope they speak to your question… Since Serenity likes hearing the cards first… QUeen of Cups, High Priestess, Nine of Pentacles.

[Serenity Bly] Ah, but if they don’t it’s because you’re meant to get THIS reading, before you get that one. ;-) Ohhhhhh!!!! *gets excited* LOVE those cards!

[Miss Michele] All three of these cards… well, they can’t get much more ‘feminine” and motherly than these. All the ladies are in the house, so to speak.

[Deb] Nice cards in general; two strong women in complementary ways. Lots of positive energy.

[Serenity Bly] The Queen of Cups is a Woman of action, take charge, definitely boss of the house but with such a caring, nurturing hand.

[Miss Michele] Yes. true leader of the household…

[Jenny] My iron fist encased in mairbou feathers.

[Miss Michele] Exactly! I think this is saying that, essentially, *whatever* your concerns, you are woman enough to handle them.

[Serenity Bly] You’ve also built a strong foundation for success in the near future. You’re READY.

[Miss Michele] In the past, well, even if I didn’t know you were pregnant, I’d guess it…

[Serenity Bly] *chuckles* I’m getting ‘nesting’ from the High Priestess and since she’s usually rather finiky about that sort of thing I expect it’s driving your family bonkers.

[otherdeb] What number is the High Priestess?

[Miss Michele] 2.

[Deb] My deck says Corn Maiden (and shows her doing a ritual).

[Jenny] What is the 9 of pentacles?

[Miss Michele] The Nine of Pentacles is harvesting your garden, literally reaping the fruits of all your labor.

[Jenny] Thank you, I blanked on that one

[Miss Michele] So this makes sense and… the only “advice” or knowledge I’m getting from this reading is about the pregnancy.

[Jenny] It’s PERFECT

[Miss Michele] It’s going to go exactly as you expect it, plan it.

[Jenny] And answered a question 100%

[Miss Michele] And, at the end, you’ll be enjoying the fruits of your “labor” (so to speak)… but ALSO that 9 Pents shows a return to an emphasis on your business/moneymaking. You”re going to be handling it all exceedingly welll. You’ll be in physical shape to go right back to doing everything you have to do… caring for the other children, earning a living.

[Jenny] Yea!

[Serenity Bly] *ponders* When are you due, Jenny?

[Jenny] That was an awesome reading, just what i needed. I was due three days ago

[Miss Michele] And with the women on these cards, you’re going to make it look easy.

[Jenny] WooHOO

[Serenity Bly] Ok, this is where I should trust my instincts. I was getting ready to say, “you won’t have long to wait”. The little one isn’t going to be impatient but not going to be lazy either. So it literally IS any day now.

[Jenny] Yes!

[Serenity Bly] Relax, breathe, you ARE ready and you’re going to welcome this new little one into your family easily, (strange term to use) but I mean the adjustment will be easy for you.

[Miss Michele] I had the same intuition, Serenity.

[Jenny] Now would be good. Or, how about now. Nope, I have a history of easy childbirth and this is a homebirth so…even easier – no travel.

[Serenity Bly] The three cards make me feel a girl energy from the baby.

[Miss Michele] But I remember what I went through and didn’t know if it was wishful thinking.

[Jenny] Yep, she’s a girl. Oh that was fantastic. Thank you SO much.

[Miss Michele] Any Braxton Hicks yet?

[Jenny] Yep, irregular contractions for days.

[Serenity Bly] *chuckles* Tempted to put bets on 2 days but given how off I was with Miss Michele last year I’m going to err on the side of soon instead.

[Jenny] hahahaha

[Miss Michele] Well, that’s because my little one is a wildcard.

[Serenity Bly] She sure is, and she loves to keep us guessing. lol

I decided to do this morning’s Card of the Week with The Rider-Waite Tarot Deck. This basic tarot deck (sometimes called a beginner deck) has straightforward imagery. I’ve grown accustomed to the bright colors of Hanson-Roberts Tarot Deck or The Robin Wood Tarot, so it’s a challenge for me to glean the true meanings from the washed out yellow and blues of my (admittedly faded) R-W deck.

Nonetheless, the Queen of Cups in today’s reading speaks to me clearly. She looks pensive and somewhat stern holding a yellow chalice; it is as if I can read into her heart and know her thoughts. She is thankful for all she has. She knows her cup is overflowing with good things. A river runs in front of her throne. She sits in front of the riverside amidst brightly colored circles (precious gemstones, gold, riches?) She knows there’s plenty and is holding her cup out for all to share. She knows the way to ensure abundance is to give freely and generously.

What a kind, pleasant thought for this holiday season!

On a Personal Note
The past few weeks have been tight, financially, but the Queen reminds me that is not what’s important. I have a home filled with love, a beautiful daughter, and I make a living (from home) helping others and doing what I love.

Lately, I’ve become even more of a “catalyst” for making things happen between colleagues, seeing connections between business owners and suggesting they chat to see what comes of it. Our Wednesday evening tarot chats help in this regard. Those who drop in get much more than free tarot readings!

More importantly, the Queen reminds me there is always enough for everyone and I have the means to provide it. We get by giving, but that should not be *why* we give. We should give for the pleasure, the emotional rewards and to help others. (It’s so obvious, but still needs to be said.)

This is where the Tarot’s strength lies for me. To remind me of what I already know, to hammer home the point. It’s often that way for our querents, too.

Universal Implications
I wasn’t surprised to see the Queen of Cups today, the week of Thanksgiving in the U.S. We will fill our cups, our plates, and ultimately our bellies with friends and family on Thursday. Hopefully, we will remember to fill our hearts, as well — with love, joy and peace.

While the Queen has plenty of everything, she also knows what’s important. Would she wait in front of Wal-mart at midnight to get 50% off on a Zhu-zhu? Probably not. But if her child wanted one, she’d have faith that the Universe would provide a means to get one — and she’d have it.

Keep the Queen of Cups in your hearts this holiday season. And Happy Thanksgiving to all our U.S.-based readers!

On Monday, Miss Michele drew the Queen of Pentacles as our card of the week. It is interesting to reflect each day on how the Queen of Pentacles influences our lives. Each of the Court Cards have distinct representation within our lives and, as family-oriented women, the Queens often resonate with Miss Michele and I more closely than other cards.

In Tarot, there are four Queens -one for each of the suits- and each Queen is unique. The Queens collectively, however, share many traits. They represent a degree of evolution and growth, a level of mastery and talent.

Queens are self-assured, confident, able, and committed. They are aware of their place in the wider world and understand their power, their command, over themselves and their environment. They are the matriarch of their family and the leaders in their field. Queens know that their role is vital to the health and happiness of those around them.

The Court Cards: Queens (click for larger image)

Queens as Family Women

  • A Queen of Pentacles builds a warm home and welcoming hearth. She is committed to providing the best for her family. She focuses her time on making sure every member of her family has what they need to be happy and successful. She is also concerned with self-worth, personal identity, and social standing. Many child-stars have Queen of Pentacles mothers, those women who encourage their children to be the best, stand out, perform, be great.
  • A Queen of Cups makes herself emotionally available to her children. You’ll often find a Queen of Cups choosing to stay home rather than work. She’s often the school mom, spending her days in the school canteen or helping to manage the school fundraisers. She’ll also spend time in the home creating an environment where every member of her family feels her love, from the careful folding of sheets to home-cooked meals.
  • A Queen of Wands is inspired and passionate. She’s the advocate of charity and causes. She loves adventure and can be enthusastic and excitable. The Queen of Wands might organize camping trips and vacations for the holidays. She gets her children invoved in craft activities and after school sports. She’s the story-teller who wants her family to dream and imagine, she wants her children to grow up confident and filled with a fire for life.
  • A Queen of Swords is motivated and organized. This Queen keeps an orderly home and maintains and manages the structure and routine of her family. It is often a Queen of Swords who will work outside of the home, providing for her family financially as the bread-winner and setting an example of hard working loyalty. The Queen of Swords encourages talking, family dinners, and one-on-one time with each member of her family. She might not show outward affection as easily as other suits but wants her family to do well and to achieve.

Queens as Career Women

  • In the workplace, the Queen of Pentacles often works in very textile ways. She’s hands on and wants to be actively involved through each stage of the process. These women tend to lean toward hand or machine crafting with woods and fibers. They often make excellent chefs or gardeners with an eye for preciseness and the hands for fine-skilled, light-touch work. These women see trade and commerce as balance and often find themselves trapped trading hours for dollars, they risk under-valuing their craft but are also in the position to create work wherever they choose to as their business is their talent.
  • The Queen of Cups is a healer and carer. You’ll often find these queens gravitate to jobs where they can be of service to others. Because of the emotional intensity of their careers, these Queens are at risk of stress related illnesses. They are prone to depression and are often very sensitive to the moods of those around them. This makes them excellent doctors, nurses, carers, counselors, therapists, even teachers. When a Queen of Cups chooses a career it is usually one where she feels deeply and can be involved on a personal level, she needs to feel like she makes a difference in the lives of others.
  • A Queen of Wands will flourish in a career where she users her creativity and inner fire. She’s a risk taker and may choose to be involved in active roles that take her outside, traveling, or into adventure. These queens often become writers, landscapers, designers, and artists. These queens may also be those outstanding women who join the military as pilots or in other intense and traditionally male positions.
  • The business world is often the frenzy in which a Queen of Swords will find greatest satisfaction. These strong-minded women handle numbers, routines, and people. They make excellent public speakers and politicians, accountants, lawyers, and architects. The Queen of Swords will enjoy putting her intelligence and communication skills to use in her career and is results focused and action empowered.

No matter which path a Queen of any suit may take, their inner sense of worth and confidence helps them excel and achieve. These women are capable and talented.

Finally, I want to acknowledge that just because we consider these Queens a ‘she’, these traits are not gender biased. There are elements of these Queens in all of us and in all of those around us to varied degrees. Queens represent a feminine energy. Warmth, emotional availability, caring, and gentleness, being generally considered feminine aspects, are not exclusive to women or to any particular age.

Can you see yourself in any of these Queens? Can you begin to imagine how the roles these Queens play come together with the other court cards? In what other ways do you think the Queens might influence our lives?

A funny thing happened on the RadioX show last Wednesday night. Serenity Bly couldn’t make it, so yours truly, Miss Michele, provided free tarot readings on her own for John Ale’s listeners at www.radioxshow.com.

I should tell you that Serenity Bly had been asking me if I could do a love reading for her when I got a chance, but I hadn’t made the time to do it yet.

Then “Serenity” phoned in with a question: “Is my new man the right one?” she asked.

As Miss Michele focused on the lovely Serenity Bly, an answer revealed itself in the cards.

Only after the show did she discover that Serenity was not Serenity… and, in fact, the querent’s name in the chat room was (ironically enough) NotThatGirl.

Miss Michele asked Serenity — NotThatGirl — how accurate the reading was. Understandably, the querent seemed confused by what the cards revealed. Not only was she “NotThatGirl,” it was NotHerReading!

And so, Serenity’s reading… which actually offers a promising future in the love department.

And yes, if you are wondering, OUR Serenity’s spread was quite accurate, too!

To meet Miss Michele and Serenity Bly “in person” (or as close as you’ll get via the InterWeb), drop by our chat room Wednesday at 10 AM. How’s that for a segue?

Hope to see you there!

Your Past Experience in Love: The Eight of Wands in this position indicates that you tended to jump head-first into relationships. You were in a whirlwind romance, but it may have left you feeling empty when the flame died.

Your Current Experience in Love: Three of Wands: What remains of your love relationship is more like a business arrangement – a steady, stable partnership. You work well together, but I’m not seeing a lot of love here at all.

What you Want from a Love Relationship: Temperance: This Major Arcana spotlights your loving nature. You are feminine, giving, caring and loving. This is coming through so loud and clear in the cards. You want someone who will return that love to you and also appreciate it. Think of your heart as a cup – you want someone who can fill it up.

What you Need from a Love Relationship:
The Five of Swords indicates a certain passion – you don’t need a business relationship disguised as a romance. You want someone you can share your love with. Be careful of deception though… the time will arrive when you need to come clean.

What you have to offer in a relationship: Again, the Queen of Cups shows your loving nature. You are ready to start over with someone who appreciates that in you.

Possible Final Outcome:
The Seven of Wands: The Seven of Wands indicates a victory, but not a decisive one. There may be a battle or an encounter between your two loves – not a physical fight but your current partner will be ready to fight for your love in the metaphorical sense. Your new relationship has potential but, like anything worth having, it will take work.

Empower Your Future: The Secret Abundance Files
