[MoonlitKim] Do I get a turn tonight? I lost track.
[Miss Michelle] Yes, Kim.
[MoonlitKim] Okay, then I’ll ask about the outcome of my ‘latest’ new project – the creation of a tarot deck!
[Miss Michelle] Oooh! Fun!
[MoonlitKim] Yes. I have no clue how to go about publishing, but I’ve got two cards completed so far. Only 76 more!
[Miss Michelle] I’d venture to say you’re doing the right thing here.
[MoonlitKim] Okay, what do we get?
[Miss Michelle] Very right. Two of Pentacles, The World, Six of Swords.
[MoonlitKim] *happy dance*
[Miss Michelle] This will be your “Harry Potter” so to speak. The endeavor that gets you completely out of any financial difficulties and makes life “easy.” You’re going to find yourself struggling in the beginning. The deck will take longer to create than you’d hoped, especially as you’re pulled to other projects.
[MoonlitKim] Really? Harry Potter?
[Miss Michelle] As in the thing that will make you filthy rich. Yes. I know this almost sounds too good to be true, but I have to trust the cards.
[MoonlitKim] I do need to buy a boat with all them riches…
[Miss Michelle] That Two of Pentacles is a passing influence. It won’t stick around and it’s not like a “sheer exhaustion” card. It’s just “juggling too much for right now.” You’re going to work through it… get it done. And then by some amazing networking connection, find a publisher. One of those ‘right place, right time’ things.
[MoonlitKim] Yeah, I’ve got to keep finances rolling until I get it all done. Some days I’m just wiped out and can’t focus.
[Miss Michelle] Yes… But The World shows, once you cross that plateau it will get easier. And the Six of Swords is just smooth sailing away from trouble.
[MoonlitKim] I am! I will! He’ll make sure of that. It’s a lot of work already, and as I said I have no clue on publishing.
[Miss Michelle] Serenity Bly, anything to add because that’s “all” I’m getting from these cards.
[Serenity Bly] Nope, nothing really to add. You’ve given Kim the reassurance she needed.
[MoonlitKim] Big yay! And big thank you!
Serenity Bly wonders if she should break her first come first served rule to let Vinnie get the first shot at the cards since she’s brand new to Tarot Chat.
[Vinnie] are you doing readings?
[MoonlitKim] Doesn’t bother me any!
[Jen] Me neither. I’m basically here to hang out & chat between readings.
[Serenity Bly] That is if you wanted a free 3-card reading. We can just talk about it instead but most of the time we do readings.
[Vinnie] Awesome! I would love a free 3-card.
[Serenity Bly] Great, do you have anything in particular you’d like to ask?
[Vinnie] I am looking on info on a move.
[Serenity Bly] Ok, Vinnie asks about Moving… In the past, the Six of Swords indicates that you’ve either recently moved or have experienced a move in the past that was a bit of a whirlwind affair, chaos that took time to settle.
[Vinnie] I’ve just recently moved in the past two weeks and am staying with friends for now.
[Serenity Bly] I feel like this recent move was a “necessity” rather than a choice to move. And your self-esteem took a hit.
[Vinnie] Yes.
[Serenity Bly] The present situation, indicated by Judgment, seems to point to a continuing struggle. Whatever pushed you out of your former home has made it very difficult to find something new and you’re having to deal with the repercussions of past mistakes.
[Vinnie] I am trying to decide if I should move to New Mexico. I do not want to stay in Arizona.
[Serenity Bly] Because of the Pentacles in the future I’m guessing it’s financial, either you’ve recently declared bankruptcy, been foreclosed, or had your credit rating significantly messed with. You’re needing to downgrade and struggling to find an acceptable alternative to what you had in the past. It’s a hard pill to swallow. The Five of Pentacles in the future does show you making a choice to walk away from what is left of your security. Given the energy I’m getting from this card the odds are you will move to New Mexico, you’ll feel a little lost and out of your depth there. You won’t have the friends and support you’ve got at the moment but you’ll have room to begin again.
[Vinnie] I am on social security right now the choice would be to go back to work or restart my reading practice self employed. I have friends in New Mexico.
[Serenity Bly] I drew a clarifying card because I didn’t like the dearth the Five left us with. It was room to grow but it comes from letting go of what you already have. The Knight of Wands appears to give you direction. Use the fire and energy you have for a creative project. Going into business for yourself can be a very powerful move for you. I’m drawn back to Judgment for a moment, in the present he reminds you to get your ducks in a row. Get all the legal details sorted, do everything by the book, get organized before you begin, write lists, etc. It sounds like you can feel good about making a leap, taking a risk, Vinnie. It will pay off.
[Vinnie] Okay. Well I have been self employed before. As a psychic. I went back to school, got a degree and worked in Social services with kids. I do not want to go back to work in that arena again. I do not mind doing readings again. I like helping people. Arizona is just not the place to be. So am looking at other places.
[Serenity Bly] The wands shows you doing something you LOVE, Vinnie. The words, “do not mind”, don’t have the passion to fire up the knight. Look more closely for something you can truly love doing. You’ll find it lifts your spirits and gives you the courage you need to face the unknown.
[Vinnie] Thanks.
[Serenity Bly] My pleasure. BTW, for anyone who doesn’t know, you can check out our site http://www.future-tarot.com. You can even join our mailing list, like Jen did the other day. And she saved money on her 12-Month Spread because of it.

Sometimes in tarot, cards leap out of the deck as we shuffle. I barely got a chance to shuffle my Hanson-Roberts deck this evening when the Six of Swords escaped.

I recall this card coming up in several readings last week… which could point to a universal trend or a particular message the card has for me, as the reader. This happens sometimes. It is not that the card isn’t meant for the querent, per se — it fits their situation well — but often when I see a card show up time and again in readings, it has a message for the reader, too.
Before I discuss my personal connection with the card, however, let’s explore the universal implications.
Universal Implications
After the full moon last Monday, we now see a waning moon, with a new moon on the 16th. Many people believe in a phenomenon called “Full moon madness.” Some hospitals report more accidents (and deaths) and, of course, mythology is steeped in lore about the full moon and creatures like werewolves.
Here at Future-tarot, we do not subscribe to superstitions and we believe we create our own destiny. However, we also believe in the Law of Attraction. If so many people in the world believe strange things happen when the moon is full — could those universal beliefs not make it so? The energy people put into worrying about a full moon transforms into negative energy, and strange things do happen (or perhaps we are just more attuned to them.)
So… let’s breathe a sigh of relief and say the full moon is over. Not only that, our friend the Six of Swords, in his boat as he rows toward shore, tells us we are escaping our problems and traveling toward something better.
We welcome fall, a new season, the harvest, and the coming happy holidays — filled with expectations of parties, time with family, love, peace and happiness. (Right? That’s what we all expect of the holidays, isn’t it??? Are you with me here?)
On a Personal Note
As I move into the next phase of my personal and career transformation through The Secret Abundance Files, I can attest to a definite sense of moving toward something better.
I’ve been on this self-improvement journey since June, however. I think this card is reminding me that life is a constant journey. Or, as Miley Cyrus so eloquently puts it: “Ain’t about how fast I get there / Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side / It’s the climb…”
May there be many more Six of Swords moments in your own future as you always move toward better, brighter, more fruitful shores.
Once again, several Tarot enthusiasts met on Wednesday evening, 9:30 PM EST for Tarot Chat. Join us every Wednesday night! Our newest attendant had an interesting question to ask regarding a situation she is currently facing with her friend.
Teresa: I have a friend who is in difficult circumstances. What can you tell me about the endeavor I’m helping him with?
Miss Michele: Great phrasing! First card- Six of Swords. I’m using Hanson Roberts if anyone is wondering… second, Seven of Cups… third, The Tower… Which is a VERY odd combination… It seems like your friend is being his own worst enemy in this, too.
Teresa: Heh.
Miss Michele: Instead of running toward something, as shown from Six of Swords, he’s running AWAY from something. But, the Seven of Cups tells us he’s scattered about it. If he’s starting a business, he’s doing so without a business plan.
Serenity Bly: My eyes jump right to that Seven of Cups. Usually, that is about having so many dreams and not knowing how to choose amongst these abundant options. It’s about having a guide who can show the right path and needing to listen to that guide.
Miss Michele: YES… I see that as the role Teresa plays.
Serenity Bly: In this case I feel like YOU, Teresa, are that guide for your friend. You have their best interest at heart and can see more clearly a future that would lead them to their greatest joys.
Miss Michele: I just drew a fourth card, asking specifically, how can Teresa help him avoid manifesting that ‘Tower’ in his business… and the Knight of Cups came up. Knights are messengers… like Serenity said, you’re going to guide him.
Serenity Bly: But they mightn’t be very open to listening to your ideas yet and you may need to use a gentle hand, a kind heart, keep showing it, keep steering it, and eventually they’ll come to it.
Miss Michele: AND you’re going to guide him toward his passion, so he’s not doing it for the money and definitely not doing it to escape worse options.
Teresa: Really, REALLY interesting.
Miss Michele: If it does all come tumbling down, you’ll help him pick up the pieces and that is when you will (almost literally) lift him up onto your horse and carry him to a better place… So this endeavor may not work but it’s setting the stage for success next time around.
Serenity Bly: Going back to The Tower, I feel like it represents a tearing down of his belief system. His mindset is coming at it from an obscured angle and he’ll come to a point where there is a paradigm shift, SUDDENLY he’ll see things differently. It’ll feel like everything is crashing down as he comes to that realization. The way he does things will shift and change dramatically.
Teresa: He’s in the eye of the storm right now.
Miss Michele: He’s in a very exciting place right now.
Serenity Bly: It is probably in THAT space, where you’ll have the most power to guide him. Teaching him how to rebuild on a firmer foundation with new goals and expectations.
Miss Michele: I feel like “the word of the day is: CHANGE.”
Teresa: Extremely interesting… and accounting for a twist to the situation that couldn’t be anticipated by the readers, extremely accurate (I think, and hope).

Teri writes:
Dear Miss Michele: I’d like some insight into the themes I will be
working with in my love life. Specifically, I’d like some insight into the chance of reuniting with an old love (2006 old!). Thank you.
Past experience in love: Two of Wands: Referring specifically to your old love, this partnership worked well and you thought it would have longevity. Then one of you moved away and the distance was too much to bear. You had to make the painful decision of separating.
Current experience in love: King of Cups: Now, you view this past lover, once again, as your ideal mate. In fact, no other person has lived up to the standards you set. He is kind, loving, thoughtful—your ideal pair in every way. However, you currently have a sense of security in your life you could lose if you pursue your past lover. You feel a reconciliation may not be “a sure thing.”
What you want from a love relationship: Queen of Pentacles: This card of fertility and growth shows you are seeking a steady, committed “grown-up” relationship—a home and family. You want someone who will bring out the best in you, both your nurturing side and your fierce intelligence.
What you need from a love relationship: Ace of Swords: Again, supporting the fact that an intellectual match is even more important than a physical or romantic match, the Ace of Swords shows you need an equal partner in life. The double-edged sword foretells a “new beginning,” albeit with an old flame.
What you have to offer in a relationship: 6 of Swords: You can offer a sense of adventure. Paired with the Two of Wands, Miss Michele wants to interpret this card—showing a traveler rowing a boat toward shore—quite literally. You are now willing to travel, even relocate, to be with this person.
Possible future experience: 6 of Pentacles: Yet another six in this reading shows your desire to settle down. Six is also a number representing choice; you are at a crossroads. To try again or not?
With no Major Arcanas in this reading, the decision lies entirely in your hands, Teri. That may not be what you want to hear, as you are clearly torn about the matter, but if you pursue this relationship it should give you what you need… but it may take time.
The wealth of Pentacles in this romance reading tells Miss Michele that you value platonic friendship – a true cerebral and well-grounded connection – with a lover over lust and romance. You are ready for a mature love.
Serenity Bly adds: The King of Cups is more how Teri views her past love, not necessarily how he really is. The Ace and the Two, which are “young” cards, represent him, and he’s not quite ready for the commitment she’s dreaming of. If she wants him, she’ll have to be patient.
The Tarot cautions Teri to beware of rose-tinted visions of the past. It is important that she look at WHY they didn’t work in the past and if anything has changed.
