Jessi posts a question:
I’m going to be potentially making a huge move (both in terms of physical location and mental/emotional steps in life) at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year. That’s a long way in the future, though, so my focus is about what’s going on currently. Is my current planning in line with the big change later? Or maybe rather….”am I on the right path to what I’m striving for?” although that begins to generalize it again. You get the idea, lol.
The Tarot is supporting Jessi’s statement of big changes, with two Major Arcana and a Court Card (a King, no less) in this three card reading!
The Sun in the present shows you are setting the stage for this move, you view it as a positive development in your life.
The presence of the Star in the second slot (Near Future) shows that you will begin developing your talents, using your intuition to guide you on your journey. As an 8 card, the Star shows things moving well, completing one stage of a project to move on to the long-term stage. Continue doing what you’re doing, but remain *aware* of it…take time for spirituality and meditation. Maybe even pull out that deck of tarot cards you own and begin studying it again. Changes of residence are possible with an 8 card.
The Outcome, the King of Cups, shows that you’ll be moving to a job, and an environment, where you can permit your true, compassionate self to shine. You’ll get the help you need to make this next stage in your life a sucess.
Overall, a positive reading that shows the universe will give you what you need, but you also have the strength, compassion and skills to take advantage of it. Maybe “skills” isn’t the right word–more like intuition to know what needs to be done, and diplomacy and compassion to get it done.
Good luck, Jessi! Please let us know how things progress over the next few months.
Yesterday’s Daily Reading came to fruition early in the day. A phone call jolted me out of my Hermit-like state with a job opportunity.
I had to draw myself out of my shell and negotiate. I’m certain the interviewer found me a bit eccentric but qualified. In the end, I offered to look over the material I’d be editing and see if I could do it within the client’s budget. I’ll be posting later on about negotiating for writers at Anything That Pays.
Following this phone call, I retreated back into my shell to write, and completed one article, a press release and several product descriptions. A good day, overall.
Today’s throw bring us the Hierophant. Male cards has been an ongoing theme in my life lately. What I wouldn’t give to see a Star or Queen of Pents lately!
The Hierophant, much like the Hermit, tells me I can expect another quiet day. The Hierophant focuses on moral values, and tells me I should do the right thing, right about what I believe, and finish the projects on my plate. It says more than that, but I’m not comfortable posting it here.
As I shuffled, the Ten of Pents jumped out of the deck. Not only did it jump out, but when I tried to put it back in, it wouldn’t go! This card keeps coming up lately… for Mysti moments ago, several times during my on-air readings… I feel like it’s telling me this is the year that TJ and I will enjoy stability and strong family grounding, financial security, and begin moving forward. I love the look of the happy family on this card… I feel like today will be a significant day in that regard… spending time together, getting things done around the house, writing…
Our brave reader, Plaid Earthworm, asks:
To the great and mystically-enhanced Miss Michele, I have a question:
Will my upcoming conference be a positive experience for me, possibly resulting in some new work?
Miss Michele asks the Tarot:
What’s in store for our little Plaid Earthworm at her writer’s conference?
An overview of the cards reveals a highly positive reading. New beginnings, creativity, and wealth! Let’s delve deeper into this three-card spread.
The Ace of Cups appears as the first card, the heart of the matter. It reveals her wishes of new work. Not just any new project, but an emotionally-fulfilling, financially-profitable, steady client.
The Cups suite indicates activity primarily in the realm of emotion. She will leave the conference feeling renewed and invigorated—something she’s needed. Perhaps the daily toil of “submission, rejection, re-write, submission,” with the occasional acceptance letter thrown in, has gotten to our earthy little Worm. But money alone will not satisfy; she wants a project that means something.
The second card, the near future—let’s take that to mean events at the conference—is the major arcane, the Star. The presence of a major arcane indicates this won’t be just any conference, but will mark a significant step in this writer’s life. The Star indicates Plaid Earthworm did the right thing asking for guidance from the Tarot—it’s time for her to rely on her intuition, inner wisdom, and perhaps even psychic abilities.
Incidentally, this card often arises in people who have a renewed or newfound interest in the occult. Perhaps Plaid Earthworm regularly reads her horoscope or meditates. Now would be a good time to take this interest to the next level, in whatever form makes her comfortable. (Which she has, by consulting Miss Michele!)
This conference will not only mark a stage of professional growth, but spiritual growth, as well. The desired results are on their way. Miss Michele encourages you—don’t be afraid to exert yourself. You have the talent, you’ll make the connections… ask and ye shall receive.
The King of Pentacles in the spot of the third card, The Outcome, supports the Star’s assertions. Keep your eyes open for an older, fatherly-type editor, ready to hire you. This person may be blustery, changeable—a strong character—but you’ve impressed him!
Just remember, don’t sell yourself short on the money side just because someone is offering you a “dream project.” Or perhaps, dream projects—the King of Pentacles, corresponding with the Gemini astrology sign, indicates an ability to juggle multiple tasks and do two or more jobs at once. Financial security is important in the future, and it can be yours after this weekend.
Remember, the Tarot points to just one direction the future *may* take. You remain in charge of your destiny!
