The first to jump in on our March of Dimes Fundraiser, Future-tarot querent Helen requests a C-for-Career Spread and writes:

I want to play with “the big boys”. I’ve worked hard to get where I am. We just went through a major reorganization, at least I have my job. I have two bosses now. I used to feel important, but now it seems as if I’m at the bottom, and kinda like a secretary for my new boss. I never minded doing the grunt work of my job, but I no longer have authority/power.

Is it worth working my butt off? I have great ideas, can put together projects, but I feel “why should I?”. And most of all, I miss my travel budget. I used to travel quite a bit. I think I’ve been grounded. There’s a conference coming up, one of my favorites, I’ve started working on a project that would get me there (no cost to the company) but it would probably go to my boss and not me (he likes attention).  :)

Miss Michele drew a six-card C-for-Career Spread to provide Helen with career guidance.

You are a strong and intelligent woman with excellent instincts, which will serve you well in business. You know “something isn’t quite right” in your current business – and the cards confirm that your suspicions are, unfortunately, correct.

However, that’s the beautiful thing about Tarot. By being aware of our situation and our possible future, we put ourselves in a better position to change our destinies.

The cards –

Your past experience in your career: The Fool: This card shows the beginning of your career, when you were a fresh-faced newbie, eager to please. What you lacked in knowledge you made up for in enthusiasm. Your can-do attitude paid off, as you quickly advanced up your chosen career path. You are so close to “playing with the big boys” you can almost taste it. Even in your current, less desirable situation, you maintain your positive attitude and this will serve you well.

Your current experience at your job: The Five of Rods: Miss Michele wasn’t very surprised, based on the details you supplied, to see the Five of Rods show up in this position. This card is telling us your instincts are correct. The Five of Rods indicates a battle; egos are involved. You feel forced to stoop to the level of your bosses, to play office politics, but that’s not your style. Stand your ground, like the brave boy on this card fighting off the masses, and you will win — although it may not be the victory you desire. The other option is to refuse to play their game.

What you want from a job: The Nine of Swords: The Nightmare Card, showing up in this spot seems an odd one, as the last thing you would want in a job is problems, problems and more problems.

Instead, this card is showing that your situation has gotten so bad, that what you want at this time is for your worst fears not to materialize. I sense confusion in the woman in this card. She sits up in bed, back of hand pressed against her forehead, unsure where to turn or what to do. However, things are coming to a head, as they always do when the number 9 is present… the worst is nearly over. Right now, you simply aren’t sure what you want.

I drew a clarification card in this spot – if you don’t know, maybe the Tarot does! The Eight of Rods seems to imply a change is in order – and rapidly! This card often represents new opportunities, coming at you faster than the speed of light.

What you need from a job: The Five of Swords: Your needs in a job, right now, again, show us more of what you actually don’t need. The victor in this card represents your boss—he’s standing with the spoils of war, but two figures in the background are sneaking away with the best of what he could have. In other words, leaving your boss for a position which will earn you respect, a true chance to shine, may be the answer.

What you have to offer your employer/your greatest strengths: the Knight of Swords: Your greatest strength is exemplified in the great, ambitious Knight of Swords. Fearless, he charges ahead, knowing he’s prepared for whatever may come!

Possible future experience in your career: The Four of Rods, also shows a bright future for you once you make the decision to make that change. The Four of Rods specifically represents a celebration, but also a new partnership. You will advance to a place where you are treated as an equal partner and given opportunities.

Miss Michele remembers her days of business travel, and there’s always a party to attend. This card in the future, too, shows that you will attend the conference as you wish, but it may not be with your current firm.

While the Knight of Swords represents swift change, don’t be too hasty. The Four of Rods always comes into play following the careful planning of the Three of Rods. Polish off that resume, do some social networking, and spread the word (subtly and quietly) that you are looking for a promotion. If your bosses are smart, they will keep you and treat you the way you deserve. But either way, brighter days await.

We are excited with Helen’s reading and would love the opportunity to answer your Tarot questions too. Please, if you are thinking of ordering a reading, do so now! Ordering before July 31st, 2009 will support a fantastic cause as all proceeds this month are being forwarded to March of Dimes.

Finally, Miss Michele is live on RadioXShow this week. Tune in to find out more about our March of Dimes Fundraiser, call the show for a free live three-card reading, or listen to the show at RadioXShow.com Wednesday night, July 29, from around 11:00 PM.

The Echo of One hosts Miss Michele and Serenity Bly with Free Tarot Readings. Wednesday 10am EST
Each week, we offer free tarot readings and talk all things tarot at The Echo of One, a site dedicated to the exploration of spiritual topics with open-minded acceptance.

I love doing readings with Miss Michele which makes our Wednesday Tarot Chat all the more exciting. Our energy keys together and we develop a synergy that enhances both our abilities to connect with the cards and the querient. Below is a transcript from a recent Wednesday Tarot Chat.

Bexg asked: “My husband is trying to start his own business, do you see that being successful?”

[MissMichele] I’m using the Hanson-Roberts Deck for now. Wow… (sidenote, I love how visual this deck is…) Three is heading off into a new venture, and you have two of those in this reading, which is propitious. The three cards (because Serenity doesn’t like to wait, LOL) are King of Cups, Three of Rods, and Three of Pentacles. To cut to the chase, because this card is just screaming to me, he’s going to have a lot to learn. That is shown by the three of Pentacles.

[SerenityBly] mmm very nice cards. It shows a young business that is finding its feet.

[MissMichele] He may want to take a course to bone up in areas he’s not familiar with, as there are many aspects related to running a business, not all of which may be his expertise, but overall, things look very very good. What prompted him to start the business is a strong desire to help people, and you can’t argue with those motives. (Shown in the King of Cups). He will bring gentle leadership and… genuineness… to the business. He’s very trustworthy and that will work to his benefit.

[MissMichele] It is important to note, with three minor arcana, the success of the business depends ENTIRELY on him. He’s going about this the right way. In the near future, the Three of Rods shows him writing a business plan, lining up capital… doing everything with a solid plan and foundation.

[SerenityBly] He’s invested emotionally in this business and I think it’s wonderful that you’re showing support, Bexg. He’ll need your support because it means a lot to him that he makes this a success. With all business it’s going to be a challenging road but I really do think he has great footings, a firm foundation, and the commitment to this to make it work.

[MissMichele] I feel like he left his corporate job/day job because the people there were less than scrupulous and also he was overworked, doing too much. He couldn’t trust people. But he hasn’t let that sour him, just means he has learned to dot his is and cross his ts better.

[BEXG] hasn’t quite left his day job yet but that’s next on the horizon

[MissMichele] What he has to do is not let his need for perfection delay him… planning is good, but he needs to take that step toward action. I don’t see a lot of “action” in this reading, and that will be the next step. He’s in the VERY early stages, but he shouldn’t procrastinate. Take long enough to do things right, learn what he needs to learn, but then make a move!

[BEXG] I agree, I keep telling him that.

[SerenityBly] He’s probably very aware of the impact his choices will have on you, his family. As a King of Cups he’s very home oriented and will worry about this kind of choice because it risks your security. Make sure he knows you support his choices. See what you can do to make things feel more stable for him. Help him bouy up that courage with your faith in his abilities.

[MissMichele] EXACTLY what Serenity said and he’s concerned about making the move because of how it will affect you, and others. The King of Cups is caring and thinking about others, in this case, almost to a fault.

[BEXG] YES I agree totally

[SerenityBly] Certainly to the detriment of his own happiness if he feels his loved ones needs don’t mesh with his own. So, he’s really going to need your support. He has the tools to build on the foundations he already has in place. He’s got room to grow but he has to take those steps, begin instead of holding back.

[BEXG] YES

[MissMichele] What Serenity said before about Strength… The Three of Pentacles felt “unfinished” to me, so I drew another card… Strength. He needs the COURAGE to move. And you need to give him that. (Serenity is more true psychic than I and sees the themes emerge and the cards before I even draw them.)

[SerenityBly] *blushes*

[MissMichele] In the imagery on the Hanson-Roberts Deck, Strength, is a woman stroking a lion, with the infinity symbol over her head. The female counterpart to the Magician. ANYTHING is possible for your husband, WITH you by his side.

[MissMichele] Any additional questions Bexg?

[BEXG] Can I ask you about our home, do you see us living here for long, changing houses, or even changing countries where we live?

[MissMichele] Ace of Pentacles… (Serenity requested one card on that…) And that would definitely signify a new beginning.

[SerenityBly] Wow, ok, NOT the card I was expecting. I was getting set to say, I doubt you’ll be moving, your King of Cups is steady, he likes where he’s at. But that ace says there is definitely a new beginning on the horizon. So a move is entirely possible. And given how firm a new beginning it is it will be a big one.

[MissMichele] I’m seeing that’s part of it… the NEED for a move and to move forward in the business. King of Cups doesn’t *want* to move, but it’s best–for the business, for him and for you, Bexg.

[BEXG] Super, thanks guys.

I hope you’ll join us 10am EST this week! The Echo of One hosts Miss Michele and Serenity Bly with Free Tarot Readings. Wednesday 10am EST

Laura asked Miss Michele a specific question: “How strong is my long-term relationship?”

While Laura requested an L for Love spread, the 9-card Relationship Spread gives us more clear answers and insight into a specific relationship…

So, dealer’s choice…  Before we begin, Miss Michele would like to note that the money from this spread goes straight to Supporting Simon, and his mother Mysti so that she and her family can move to Denver to be with Simon, a preemie born at only 24 weeks gestation. Simon celebrated his one-month birthday very recently, and we continue to pray for his increasing growth and strength.

Thank you, Laura, for your contribution.

The first card, How You See the Other Person, is the Five of Rods. This minor arcana indicates a battle of wills. You view your significant other as thick and stubborn. While you love him, his inability to compromise is beginning to wear thin, and you are becoming weary of minor fights and squabbles over petty causes. You view him as always ready to do battle.

The second card, the Three of Swords, is a powerful card of change that exemplifies how he sees you. While you take these petty squabbles to be part of life, he may be viewing your current difficulties as “the beginning of the end.” This may not be a bad thing… your relationship—as you know it—is going to end. That doesn’t mean you won’t find a better relationship with the same man… just that things are coming to a head. This change will hurt you both, but will be for the best.

Right now, he views you as constantly sticking daggers in his heart… when you give in and fight him on his petty squabbles, it hurts him as much as it hurts you. Neither of you is happy with the current situation.

What you need is shown in the Ace of Cups. You *need* this new beginning forecasted in the previous card. You need someone who you can show all the love in your heart—several cards in the spread support this. You are overflowing with love, but you need someone who will accept this.

What the other person needs is shown in another five… the Five of Swords. To shift to numerology for a moment, as the Tarot utilizes ancient archetypes, numerology, intuition and astrology to tell its tales… the number five indicates a restlessness. He is an adventurer and it was quite a feat to get him to settle down in the first place. But he’s feeling that restlessness, leading to his need to always do battle. The Rods and Swords associated with his name show he is not in the same “love” place as you right now. As the Five of Swords can also indicate deception, he feels a need to stop fooling himself (and you) at the present time.

Where the relationship is now shows a very odd card in this position, the Nine of Cups. Typically the Nine of Cups would indicate all your dreams coming true, which, obviously, is not where the relationship is right now. Instead, you are both in a holding pattern, fooling yourselves that everything is fine. You are both putting a lot of energy into wishes and dreams… but the forces that are blocking you are preventing this from coming true. …

Serenity Bly adds: There’s a sense of “this is as good as it’ll get.” It’s a sort of fatalistic thought: You’ve done the best you can and what you’ve had is the best you’ll ever have. I also get the impression someone is waiting in the wings. Laura, you might already be thinking about this person and your emotions are adding to your confusion.

You and your current love are both wearing masks in this relationship, putting up a front for the sake of peace.

In addition to soliciting Serenity’s insight, Miss Michele also drew a clarification card for the Wish card (Nine of Cups) asking, “What factors are blocking you from your wish…what aren’t you seeing?”

The card was the very powerful major arcana, Judgment. You’re both holding onto your expectations for the other person, without seeing them as they are. And you’re both also holding onto expectations of what a relationship should be… and you’re tired of waiting for yours to turn into that. Your best course of action is for you to both stop holding onto the past and either make the decision to change your relationship into what you want it to be—or walk away from it with no regrets.

The sixth card, where you would like the relationship to go, supports your feelings with the Ace of Cups, in the Queen of Cups. You are a nurturer—he thinks he doesn’t want nurturing. You are warm and soft with love to give. He feels unworthy of it. All you want is to give all your love to someone who will accept it! He doesn’t appreciate your femininity.

Where he would like the relationship to go is shown in the Four of Cups, a card of emotional poverty and lacking. Again, he feels he doesn’t deserve you and, at times, would rather walk away than make this work. The clarification card, the Three of Pentacles, supports this. Miss Michele asked the Tarot, again, what factors are blocking him? The Three of Pentacles is the work card. He is simply afraid that if he works at it, he will still fail—and where would that leave you both? He wants the easy way out.

The Hanged Man offers the factors to be considered in this relationship… you are both tired of waiting, waiting, in this holding pattern. It is time to make a decision, for both your sanity. Miss Michele can’t say whether that choice will be stay or go.

Serenity Bly adds: The Hanged Man supports the “fatalistic” thoughts shown in the Nine of Cups. Laura is afraid to let go of her current relationship, but a new person offers a great deal of joy for her future if she’ll take the chance.

The End Result, the Page of Cups, supports Serenity’s assertion, showing a new opportunity to share your love. All things now seem possible with the Page by your side. You will have a new lease on your romantic life, possibly even talk of deeper commitment and an eventual family. You will KNOW with this person that it feels right, and you won’t need the Tarot or anything else to quell your anxiety or tell you he is “the one.” He’s waiting for you, Laura.
