Yet another RadioXShow listener came to use seeking answers to love. I’m starting to wonder if John is really hosting a dating service rather than a radio station. *grins* But what insight can we offer Becky in regard to love in her life?

Overview: Love is a new adventure for you, Becky. I sense a great deal
of insecurity, an inability to trust and a need to feel loved and
protected. These cards show that while you might want to cling to the
people in your life you’ll find greater happiness in seeking a greater
sense of freedom and independence. Independence doesn’t mean being a
hermit, but rather finding the love within yourself that makes it ok
to be with others but not needing to be with them. Love is another of
life’s experiences and it’s time to let go of your fears and embrace
adventure.

Becky’s past experiences in love: The Star
Love has been an adventure of faith and blind hope. With an eagerness
to love and be loved it is easy to ignore signs of discord and to
wallow in the bliss of a new romance without building the solid
foundation a lasting relationship needs to survive. Becky’s
experiences in love have released their share of confusion and pain
but Becky has clung firmly, perhaps unfulfilling relationships, in the
hope that love will find a way.

Becky’s current romantic state: The Hierophant
Now you’ve come to accept a need for greater depth and understanding.
You’re seeking answers and looking for meaning. Perhaps you’ve tired
of the more youthful ‘fling’ and want to discover what love can truly
be like in a relationship that is committed and fulfilling. You’re
seeking a guide to these emotions, someone who can share his
understanding of the heart and show you how to let love blossom in
your life.

What Becky wants from love: Nine of Swords
I feel like this card is telling us that you’ve been manifesting your
greater fears in your search for love. Anxiety, guilt, and envy can
color your true desires, overshadowing what you want and deserve in
your relationships. If your focus is constantly one of worst possible
outcomes, or what you don’t want, you’ll find these aspects coming
into your life. The Nine of Swords tells us to examine your feelings,
to seek out their source, but to ultimately let them go and allow
yourself to seek what you DO want, rather than trying to avoid pain.

What Becky needs from love: Ace of Swords
Inspired challenges and a sense of determination are what you truly
need from love. I get the feeling you’re used to getting your own way
but the man who will truly light the fire within will have the
strength to stand up to you. It can create some interesting sparks of
contention, particularly early in a relationship, but as depth grows,
so too will harmony and balance.

Why Becky deserves love: The Fool
You’re young, vibrant, and full of life! You want to leap out into the
world and explore. Love is perhaps life’s greatest adventure. It’s
time to explore the depth of emotions you’re capable of. I get the
feeling that relationships, deeper, meaningful, enriching
relationships are new to you and now is the perfect time to learn the
importance of giving. The Fool, who thinks only of himself learns that
the needs and desires of others, and more importantly taking part in
fulfilling those needs and desires are what make life worth living.

Becky’s Romantic Future: Knight of Wands
The Knight of Wands embraces adventure. It tells us that you’re not
ready for commitment and now is the time to be enjoying yourself and
experiencing life. Don’t settle for dull, solid, stable, you need
excitement! For the moment, love isn’t about finding that special
someone, it’s about embracing the wonder of life, of sharing that
wonder with others.
Right now, You are your one true love and everyone
else is just the chocolate cake of life.

Overview: A troubled time has brought Deb to Miss Michele seeking advice in love. A rough divorce or heart-rending break-up is going on right now, but as soon as Deb lets go of what isn’t working, she’ll make room for something new and much, much better. The Tower and Ten of Cups both appearing in this reading show that Deb’s romantic life will run the gamut from nearly unbearable to absolutely divine in the near future.

Your past experience in love: Queen of Swords: The Queen of Swords, representing Deb in her past romances, shows that she was, in fact, afraid to love. Perhaps based on events from her childhood, she had a hard time opening up to show love to anyone. While the Queen of Swords in the Robin Wood deck wears butterflies on her gown, her visage is stern, her features harsh. She holds out a hand, as if she is making her point, using reason above all else. The Queen of Swords is afraid to show kindness and that describes Deb in the past.

Your current experience in love: The Tower. This tumultuous Major Arcana, the Tower, shows that Deb is either in the midst of a bad break-up or a very negative relationship. The good news here, however, is she is escaping. Sometimes, our situation must crumble around us in order to pave the way for something better.

What you want from a love relationship: Six of Swords: Not surprisingly, what Deb wants right now is to get away from it all. She would view a new, better relationship as an escape from her past, the past in which she was afraid to love.

What you need from a love relationship: Ten of Cups: Intelligent woman that she is, Deb will settle for nothing less than “everything,” in a love relationship, characterized by the Ten of Cups. She wants all her dreams fulfilled—the perfect family, a man who is her match intellectually, physically and emotionally, and, most of all, someone who will make her want to open up and love him. Tens represent the end of a cycle; the Tarot is telling Deb the best is yet to come.

What you have to give your lover: King of Pentacles: Deb may have been the Queen of Swords in the past, but the King of Pentacles exemplifies her potential. This king is happy, loving, generous, strong, powerful. The presence of a king in this spot shows that Deb will be perfectly happy wearing the pants in the family, taking charge, taking care of business. But the King of Pentacles has his own soft side, too. Most importantly, Deb seeks—and will offer—stability in a relationship.

Possible future experience in love: The Fool: This Major Arcana combines with the Six of Swords to tell us that a new relationship is around the corner, as soon as Deb is ready to embrace it. Her lover will make her feel young again, and perhaps sweep her away on that journey she longs for. Pack light, however, and buy what you need along the way. The Fool doesn’t believe in being prepared for every contingency—he’d rather wing it. Exciting adventures await when it comes to romantic prospects.

Miss Michele used her Robin Wood tarot deck for this reading.

This week on RadioXShow we had an anonymous listener request a free three-card reading asking about her love situation. Reading for ‘anon’ can be challenging. We have no details, we don’t even know their gender and it can be harder to ‘tune in’ to a querient without their name. After the show, anonymous ordered the more detailed L-for-Love Spread. With more cards, more detail, and a greater connection the three-card spread makes complete sense but here is what the six-card spread tells us.

The Lovers as the last card indicates a choice and now I see what choice you have to make. Hopefully this L-for-Love Spread will shed additional light on the situation for you.

Your past experience in love: Judgment: The Major Arcana, Judgment, supports the fact that you have a difficult choice to make. You may be judging your current lover as someone (your ex) judged you in the past.

Your current experience in love: Queen of Swords: You are being very analytical about your situation, perhaps to try to mask your true feelings. Your emotions for your ex are also making you feel cold toward your current lover.

What you want from a love relationship: The World: There is no compromising your expectations or settling for second best when it comes to romance. You want “all that and a barrel of monkeys, too!” A lover, a partner, a best friend… someone who, quite literally, completes your world.

What you need from a love relationship: Eight of Pentacles: You need someone who will put up with your demanding nature, who will fulfill all your needs but will also “school” you—teach you the art of compromise, give and take, and mature love. At the same time, the Eight of Pentacles is the “work” card — you need someone willing to work as hard as you are at the relationship.

What you have to give your lover: Six of Cups: The Six of Cups calls to mind the phrase, “The Halcyon Days of Old.” Are you idealizing your past with your ex, at the expense of your relationship with your fiancé? This card shows that what you have to give your lover is “the way things were,” but better, because you have learned from your mistakes. If you choose to stay with your fiancé, you will be entering the relationship smarter; you won’t repeat the same mistakes. In fact, as a result of your resurfacing feelings from your ex, if you work through the problems with your fiancé, your relationship will grow stronger. However, the Tarot seems to indicate that is not the choice you will make…

Possible future experience in love: The Fool: The Fool represents jumping headfirst into the future, new experiences (or old experiences revisited) with little regard to feelings or emotions of those left behind. You don’t mean to hurt your fiancé, but you must do what is best for you. If you do leave your fiancé, you can expect a fun and passionate relationship with your ex that feels, in fact, more like a “new love” than your current romance does.

In  the first of our readings since the official launch of www.future-tarot.com (with all proceeds going to “Supporting Simon,”) visitor Erin wants to know what the future will hold for her business.

Miss Michele used the Hanson-Roberts deck to  draw five cards, and came up with some unusual findings for a career spread. The lack of any Pentacles would indicate that Erin’s business is largely a labor of love. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have the potential to make vast amounts of money, merely that Erin launched it to follow her passion.

Card by card…

The Fool in the past shows that Erin may have recently launched a new business endeavor or changed her focus in her current business. While she may have done research and preparation, a large part of this change was a “leap of faith” as she entered uncharted territory. It also shows this may be the cause of any challenges—whether Erin is truly unprepared or merely feels that way.  (And Miss Michele suspects the latter.)

The Ace of Cups, again, supports the launching of a new business endeavor, showing the present… Erin began with an open mind and unfettered optimism. Her business is truly a labor of love—her true passion. Miss Michele commends Erin for following that passion!

However, Erin’s fears manifest themselves in the Unseen Factors of the third card, the Six of Cups…she may be thinking things were better before, or that she should take a few steps back, re-think her path, maybe even go back to her previous career.

The Strength card, however, a Major Arcana showing Erin’s best course of action, advises her to plow on. Yes, go back and re-think some of your tactics, perhaps re-write your business plan or, if you don’t have one, put one together in order to solidify your goals. While the carefree optimism of the Fool gave Erin what she needed to launch her business, a lack of Pentacles in a business/career spread shows a need to focus on the “nuts and bolts” now. Without proper preparation, the business faces some risks, shown in the Final Outcome card, the Seven of Swords…

The Seven of Swords indicates trickery and deception, along with competitors who may not play by the rules. Someone who is less than trustworthy could sweep in, under the guise of trying to help. Again, be STRONG and rely on past experience and knowledge to resist the urge to work with them. In this case, Erin would be better off going it alone than taking help that is a wolf disguised in sheep’s clothing.

The lack of Pentacles in this reading makes Miss Michele wonder if there are not other factors on your mind—new beginnings—that are holding back Erin’s business from the amount of growth it could be experiencing.

AJ writes:

I have nothing specific other than “what does this year hold for me?” I have to add that the latter half of last year sucked, though not as hard as some years I’ve had. Life has been hard up until four years ago.

Overview: In spite of your proclamation to Miss Michele that acclaim is what brings you satisfaction, the cards show a huge emphasis on emotions, and seeking “parent figures,” mentors. Although Miss Michele hates to say it, based on the placement of the cards, your parents *may* be returning into your life, leaving you with a difficult choice to make. Let’s go month by month and see what the Tarot has to say.

January – Five of Cups – Not surprisingly, the Five of Cups starts off the year. This shows a certain emptiness in your life, perhaps still recovering from years of hurt or just starting to show these feelings. Whatever happened in the latter half of the year that “sucked” continues.

February – the Fool – February will bring you out of your doldrums in a *big* way. I see the last half of the year’s events letting go to bring you into a new phase, in which you really let your ‘inner teenager’ out, but with positive consequences, rather than having people view you as immature. Your thoughts and words will be put into action, and you may even see some opportunities, as a direct result of your personality, pop up.

March – The Six of Cups – often described as the “good old days” card. AJ admitted himself that he missed out on “fun” teenage years. February and March will blur into one adventure of fun and immaturity, but with little danger of negative consequences.

April – The Three of Rods further reinforces the Fool, urging you to take action on the opportunities offered. You won’t plunge blindly, but will take time to consider how best to proceed and will do so with knowledge, perhaps taking on a leadership role in your chosen community, be it the blogosphere or the office.

May – The Empress reveals that a female mentor may step up to help you in this role… She will, additionally, help you confront your own feelings about your mother, and your very definition of the word as you perceive it. Very appropriate, in the month of Mother’s Day. Additionally, you will be enjoying the bounty that the opportunities in April have presented you. The two consecutive Threes in this reading show your ability to enjoy life, and the Spring will give you the means to do so…everything will come together as you begin to enjoy the fruits of your labor. It’s going to be a good Spring!

June – King of Pentacles - June brings us a curious card, a father figure/mentor card in the Court Card, King of Pentacles. So funny that the exact cards you wished not to see appeared in this throw. That which we think about manifests… in the positive or negative. When you say, “I don’t want to see my parents,” the Universe hears “parents” and acts accordingly… giving you lots of parent substitutes and cards that leave Miss Michele shouting, “mother and father!”

The King of Pentacles follows our theme of grasping opportunities and seeing them through to completion to bring you wealth, satisfaction and career success. Oddly, once again, June is Father’s Day. This card could indicate a male mentor who assists you on your quest. You are ready and eager to learn all that he can teach.

July – July brings us the Lovers, another major arcane indicating a choice must be made. The scenario as I see it: your parents come back into your life, you make a choice to either repair or not repair the damage done. (Too much information often clouds the interpretation… )
Alternately, you may have a decision to make about this opportunity… in either event, the decision leaves you…

August – Feeling lonely in August, as the Four of Cups surfaces. Far from your gregarious self this month, you have retreated for careful contemplation. The decision in July has left you closing your emotions off again. However, this contemplation is opening the door for a better future. The up-turned, yet empty, cups shown on the card show a willingness to receive love and acceptance once you release the hurt you’re feeling.

September – Seven of Swords – The Seven of Swords indicates a lack of trust. You opened yourself up in the spring and summer, only to find yourself alone and more cynical come the fall. Be wary of a depression that will cloud your thoughts, creativity and abilities to work creatively.

October – Six of Pentacles – October brings you out of your doldrums, where you find yourself repaying a karmic debt. After the help given to you in the Spring, you decide to “give back” by helping others in a similar way and will feel fulfilled by it. You realize there is more to life than just yourself and what you can get from others, and learn the beauty in giving and sharing, mentoring others with your own wealth of knowledge. Or you don’t. That’s your choice. But the Tarot advises that fulfillment awaits if you do.

November – Seven of Cups – November finds you with your head in the clouds a bit, with big dreams and visions but not sure how to put them into place.

December – Knight of Swords – It becomes clear in December, when you employ logic to fulfill your pie-in-the-sky visions. After a turbulent “emo” year of letting your emotions get the best of you, you take positive action. The danger is in become too serious and focus on facts.

Overall, the year’s focus is represented in the Queen of Pentacles. This will be a pivotal year for you in terms of learning how to give and take—tangible objects, advice and information, as well as love and acceptance. You’ll be more sensible in business manners—earning enough to pay that killer mortgage and then some, but will learn the rules of “the Secret,” you give back what you put out to the Universe.
I see you in the ‘middle phase” of your learning experience with the universe. No high-number cards have come up, but you started with “zero” in the fool and worked up to a seven, with ideas in the intangible thoughts phase. This is supported by the cups in the reading.

Please come back often, and tell us how the year is progressing for you!
