Future-Tarot reader Hannah wants to know: “How is my current relationship going to turn out?”
Overview: Miss Michele is happy to report good news for Hannah. The reading reveals a new relationship that is going to turn into a significant endeavor. Hannah and her partner complement each other in a variety of ways. Things move rapidly, as evidenced by the two Wands in this reading, while three Major Arcana show great significance in the relationship. In fact, the possible final outcome, the Three of Rods, may well indicate a marriage or other significant commitment.
I am also sensing, from the last two cards in this spread, that there is debate about a possible move. Hannah might be ready for the change that a new setting will provide; even if it doesn’t quite add up to the best decision on paper, it may be worth it to go for it – and the outcome if she moves should be better than a long-distance relationship or a break-up.
Past experience in love: The Magician: Hannah actually had pretty good luck with love in the past. The Magician shows that she was able to use all her talents to create the experience she wanted. These relationships didn’t work out simply because they weren’t “meant to be” but AH is taking what she learned from them to make future relationships stronger.
Current experience in love: The Sun: This Major Arcana shows the start of a very good, albeit young, love. However, this is not a relationship of blind lust; it is well thought-out, with an emphasis on analysis. This is supported by the Magician in this spread. Hannah, you are a smart woman and are applying what you know to this relationship.
What you want from a love relationship: Six of Wands: Be aware, however, of overthinking the relationship or over-analyzing it. Let go and enjoy! You want someone strong and capable of fighting by your side in any battle. Together, you are an unbeatable force. The Six of Wands, the Victory card, shows just how much you want this relationship to succeed; and it seems to be doing just that. It feels as if things couldn’t get better. I get the sense, however, simply by your asking this question, that you are waiting for the other shoe to drop. And, true, the Six of Wands can indicate “success for now” but all the other cards support the assertion that this relationship is meant to last.
What is hidden, what you want but don’t realize it: The Fool: You need someone to counter your maturity and your analytical mind. Sometimes, you are too thoughtful for your own good, and you seek a bit of spontaneity. Is your current partner the type to whisk you away for a weekend jaunt with just the clothes on your back and a change of (racy) underwear? That’s what you need. While it’s an oxymoron to try to “plan” spontaneity, you can work at it. Talking it out is never a problem for you, so tell him exactly what you’d like him to do; send him the link to that base-jumping vacation or, if that’s a bit too extreme for you, suggest a weekend in the country: no shirt, no shoes, no cell phone.
What you have to give your lover: Knight of Swords: Miss Michele is not at all surprised to see a Sword representing your strength in love, or what you have to offer a lover. After all, Swords are the cards of sharp intellect and you have that—if you’ll pardon the pun—in spades! However, the Knight of Swords is the court card who is always ready for a fight. You will challenge your lover to be a better man for you. Don’t be ready to call it quits on him if he doesn’t comply right away, however. There is a future here. Hang in there.
Possible future experience in love: Three of Wands: The Three of Rods indicates a possible journey—figurative or literal. It also often signifies a marriage proposal, and this change in “status” is supported by the Knight of Swords. Stay focused, communicate and don’t be afraid to move forward in this relationship.

I have to admit that knowing nothing about Erica makes this reading an intriguing one for me to give. I find myself being more cautious about my responses (*blushes* Yes, even I am still wary to trust outright my intuition and instinct).
Being tuned into Erica was a warm and touching experience. I know she’s a generally empowered, positive woman who stands tall in the world. She is bright and I feel like she represents a great lake. Her surface is smooth, calm, unruffled but beneath she is shifted by emotional currents of uncertainty.
I feel like it is these deeper elements that manifest the challenges the cards reveals through the second half of the year. Thankfully, overcoming inner demons is one of this years greatest universal elements. We will all be forced to gaze upon ourselves and account for our true being.
I can tell that Erica will grow and that this year she’ll overcome some of the greater challenges she has found recurring through her past. She’ll inspire others with her courage and confidence and go into 2010 with a new sense of purpose and an exciting new opportunity.
January: The King of Cups: The year begins on a solid foundation of emotional strength and warmth. A firm, capable masculine influence creates a harmony in the home, filling Erica’s life with a loving atmosphere and a strong sense of security. He encourages her to seek out the healer within and turn her thoughts to being a positive influence in the lives of others.
February: The Sun: Having discovered her inner potential for bringing light and happiness to others and in doing so bringing about peace within herself, Erica is blessed with The Sun in February, ordaining light and joy.
March: Three of Cups: In March the warmth, love, and romantic happiness the surrounded Erica in the earlier months of the year founds a new beginning, perhaps a marriage or romantic commitment. March gives an emotional gift that is both the culmination of a joyous occasion and the beginning of a greater journey with greater emotional depths to explore.
April: Eight of Wands: My first thoughts on seeing this card after the original three was Honeymoon. While a marriage may not have been the Three of Cups intentions in March, April’s atmosphere has a relaxed get away in mind. The Eight of Wands usually indicates travel, a new adventure, a journey.
May: Six of Swords: After the upheaval and changes through March and April, Erica will finally be able to move at a slower pace. May brings with it calm serenity and the opportunity to find her footing as her new reality settles about her.
June: Two of Cups: June’s cups point to a new relationship or new depths for an existing relationship after times of trouble. It’s possible that Erica will welcome someone into her life. If she is planning a family then it wouldn’t surprise me if a child is on the way in June.
July: Five of Pentacles: Thoughts of family and romance turn to finance in July. Erica may find her financial footing is not as secure as she once thought and needs to reconsider the way her finances are managed. It is important to evaluate past mistakes but know that this period will lead to greater security if she chooses to make sensible choices.
August: Page of Swords: The winds of changing thoughts and personal growth flow from the Page of Swords in August. From an almost boyish sense of petty self-mindedness it’s time to reach a new level of awareness that is outside of one’s self. Erica might feel a sense of self-loathing or frustration. When the mind seeks to disable us it is important to learn from our past mistakes but do not allow them to shield us from making future choices.
September: Five of Cups: September will be washed in a haze of regret and a sense of betrayal, perhaps because of the depression and turmoil blown up by the Page of Swords. It is important to remember that this misunderstanding does not foretell an ending. It is a speed bump in Erica’s happiness that can be overcome with patience, love, and communication.
October: Eight of Swords: Things seem to be just getting worse. From regret and betrayal Erica sinks deeper through October until she feels trapped. A choice must be made but there is no single choice that feels right and every choice brings with it trouble and risk.
November: Page of Cups: November offers release from the frustrations of the past months. The Page of Cups plants a seed of emotional warmth and tenderness into the situation and from that grows a new strength in your relationships, both with yourself and with others.
December: Eight of Pentacles: Erica’s year ends on a positive note with an exciting and exhilarating opportunity to hone and harvest her craft. She may discover a new hobby and forges a great sense of achievement. This could be the foundation for a business venture.
Overview: Ten of Swords: When it comes down to it, 2009 is about letting go and creating something new and beautiful from past hardship and grief. Erica has faced her own struggles and unfortunately they are not all behind her but her strength of being and purpose remains. There are challenges ahead and I feel that Erica needs to know she does not go into battle alone. Her loved ones stand close and want to be given an opportunity to help. Don’t be afraid to ask.
Erica, enjoy the tranquility and warmth in the beginning of the year. The happiness in those earlier months will strengthen you for the challenges to come. Remember, that every difficulty you face is transient, you will overcome and there are new joys just beyond the horizon.
All the best for 2009!
Miss Michele has been feeling called to her old Rider Waite deck lately, so she is pulling it out for a three-card reading for Siddow. The business-like plaid pattern on the back of the cards, coupled with the straightforward imagery, seems to fit for a question regarding law.
Can I get another three-card freebie? I’m in a situation with my stepmother over my father’s estate, and I don’t know whether I should sit tight or lawyer up.
Overall, the spread shows that you have tried your best to approach the situation with caring and understanding. Cups, not Pentacles, show up. This shows that the dispute is less about the material aspects, but the principle of it. How your stepmother is making you feel. As if she is someone trying to sully your image and memories of your father. I’m very sorry that she’s putting you through this. Miss Michele can’t even imagine how hard it must be, especially with you being such a good person through it.
The Chariot came up to show the past. You have tried to take the reigns of the situation and, until now, have maintained control. The Eight of Cupssnuck in behind the Chariot, adding further clarity. Someone is trying to pull something over on you–but you probably already knew this!
I meditated on the card in the near future, the Sun card. In three card spreads, Miss Michele often likes to think of the near future card as advice the tarot is offering. That is the situation here. Coupled with the Chariot, the Tarot is saying, Step away from the situation for the moment. Take a chance to cool down and relax. It could be a literal vacation, or just a day of R&R at home.
The King of Cups in the outcome *could* indicate a lawyer. But the lawyer would be compassionate, more of a mediator than anything else. However, the King of Cups also represents diplomacy, generosity and maintaining your calm. You will emerge the better individual in this, and get what you want. By drawing on the memories and strength of your father, you will find a diplomatic solution to the situation. It may require compromise, but you will come out ahead in the end.
Cyclops took advantage of Miss Michele’s New Year’s Special for his 13-card reading. It is going to be an interesting, yet balanced, and overall positive year for Cyclops as he grows, learns and then is rewarded with some fun times!
Overview: Card 13 gives us the Page of Rods, showing a year of new opportunities and good news across the board. An overview of the spread shows a good balance of Pentacles, Cups, and Swords, meaning there will be balance between change and opportunities, finance, work and learning, and relationships/fun. A plethora of Pentacles in the first half of the year shows a focus on money-making, learning and study, setting the stage for a fun, relaxed second half, where Cyclops can focus on personal relationships.
January: Ace of Pentacles: A new business or wealth-building opportunity will show up in January, if it hasn’t already (and Miss Michele has inside information that it may have!) There will be further opportunities for Cyclops to exercise his creativity, as well.
February: The Hermit: This month will be quiet. The querent should take the time to plan his next move, meditate, contemplate and rest. Don’t rush into any of the new opportunities yet… consider all angles, ask others for advice, keep learning, but mostly, trust your gut.
Because things are going to explode in …
March, with the Ten of Pentacles. It will be a time for activity and travel, and Cyclops will have the money to do it, and do it right. With all this activity, he will be building a strong foundation for the future, in his paintball activities with his team, family relationships, and his career.
April: Eight of Pentacles: This brings hard work and study. The financial benefits and security from March won’t come without a price, he’ll have to study even more to pay back what he was given in March. But people are trusting that he *will* pay it back, so they are giving it to him before he even delivers. He should be careful with money management in April, although things were good in March, he shouldn’t squander it.
May: Knight of Cups: This card brings a shift from the tangible (Pentacles) to feelings and emotions. May will bring a new social experience, possibly a new love. Of course, when you’re not paying attention to it, that’s when these things happen. There will be an emphasis on fun and passion.
June: King of Swords: Cyclops may be afraid to take the leap into this new romance. He becomes overly rational, almost cold, which is not like him, at all. This new love will scare him, perhaps because it’s not what he expected to happen, romantically.
July: The Sun: By July, these feelings will pass and Cyclops will be feeling more like himself. There will be a focus on vacation, fun times. Whatever was troubling him or closing him off emotionally in June, he will be ready to throw caution to the wind, let loose and have fun in July.
August: The Emperor: Another major arcana tells us it’s going to be a pivotal summer. While the King of Swords represented Cyclops, The Emperor is someone else—a mentor who warns Cyclops it’s time to stop the party and get down to business. Enough focus has been placed on love and relationships, it’s time to get back to business and learning.
September: The Wheel of Fortune will bring new wealth and success in unexpected areas.
October: Five of Swords: Be on guard for people trying to bring you down because of their own jealousy. They will spread gossip, make you look bad, and if you stoop to their level, although you may win, you will lose because that’s not the type of person you are.
November: Two of Cups: You may re-unite with an old love or someone from your past, and this time, things will be much better as you find balance in your relationship. You’ll also find balance between money/career, romance and fun. The year will bring you to extremes of each side, but, toward the end, you will better learn how to balance it all.
December: The Hanged Man tells us the new/revived relationship hasn’t reached its happy outcome yet. You’ll be exploring the relationship from different angles, seeing each other differently, deciding how to proceed. You’ve been here before, but it looks very different this time.
The Page of Cups hitched a ride on The Hanged Man to show itself, and that signifies the birth of new emotions. You’ll be taking things slowly in your relationship, but it will be soft, warm and emotional. There will be a turning point of sorts, a strong emotional commitment where you both decide this is what you want, but no marriage proposal or formal commitment.
