Maribel wrote in for a L-for-Love Spread. She offered no details on her current relationship or situation, but the tarot revealed insight into her deepest thoughts and desires, along with her best course of action to avoid the future she does not want.

Past Experience in Love – Page of Wands

The reading begins with our Page of Wands standing on the seashore looking off into a bright future ahead. Love was new, pleasant and full of surprise and wonder. Maribel spent hours planning the future with her lover, down to the minute detail, and had every expectation it would go as planned.

Current Experience in Love – The Sun

Things are still currently good and in a growth stage, as shown by the major arcana, The Sun. This card often indicates fertility, a birth or family planning, but can also relate to a spiritual breakthrough.

Maribel is ready to move on from the fresh new Page of Wands stage of the relationship to something more intense and serious. She seeks a spiritual connection from her lover but he is still only interested in “fun in the sun.”

Factors you’re not seeing currently – King of Pentacles

Maribel is not seeing the “King of Pentacles” traits in her lover. In her eyes, he hasn’t grown up. The tarot would urge Maribel to take a second look – perhaps he is the mate you dream of, a strong influence, a financial provider, a caregiver and partner in all things – spiritual and material. He could be the perfect partner to “set up shop” and maintain a home with – but you’re not giving him that chance to be. This is revealed in greater depth later, when we see that what you offer a relationship, Maribel, are the traits of the Hermit: deep thoughts, pensiveness, introspection. Don’t let your partner’s lighthearted ways fool you – he’s deeper than he lets on. I want to say “still waters run deep,” but your partner is anything but still waters. On the contrary, he is the Page of Wands in action – he’s poetry and dance and energy and fire.

What you Need from a Love Relationship – Three of Cups

More than anything else in this spread, this card tells us you’re so ready for marriage, children – that greater commitment. In fact, that need is so strong, you’re willing to sacrifice what you do have in the pursuit of the commitment your current partner has been, so far, unwilling to make. With the Three of Cups tarot asks you to examine things from all angles. A wedding is one day. A ring, only a symbol of love. Can your partner, perhaps, be your King of Pentacles even without those things?

Your greatest strengths in a relationship/What you Offer – The Hermit

No doubt, Maribel, you bring maturity to the relationship. More so, this card indicates your discontent, even restlessness. But The Hermit tells us now is not the time for hasty decisions – more thought and consideration is needed. The Hermit in the Robin Wood Tarot Deck is on a quest, his lantern above his head illuminating the way. Continue seeking what you need. It may be time, in the future, to move on, but don’t be too quick to give up what you have.

Maribel’s Hermit is a strong counterpoint to her lover’s Page of Wands. He’s in the spotlight, she prefers the dark corners of her mind. He loves action. She likes to think. Rather than being a bad thing, though, this could strengthen their relationship. Vive la Difference!

Possible Future Outcome – Three of Swords

Maribel, your restlessness, if things continue on this path, could end in break-up. It will be painful but, like cutting away a dead branch so the rest of the plant will thrive, you feel it would be necessary. In this case, the Three of Swords indicates that sacrificing this relationship is not necessarily the best course of action, though. There’s a thread going through this reading – psychic intuition, if you will – that the two of you are meant to be together.

Serenity Bly corroborates my thoughts on this: “The Three of Swords indicates the contention going on simply because he’s fundamentally unchangeable and she’s unsettled by his liveliness. But I don’t get any sense that this relationship is doomed. I actually feel like this man is perfect for her. She NEEDS his sunshine. Without it she’ll disappear into the darkness. She is more of herself, she reaches higher, goes further, and becomes greater, because of his influence.”

Clarification Card – Page of Cups

With this in mind, Miss Michele couldn’t let the reading rest in this way. She drew a final card to determine how Maribel may best avoid this outcome if careful thought shows it’s not what she truly wants.

A card that has been sharing many different messages with us lately comes up: the Page of Cups. And so we’ve come full circle with yet another new beginning, another Page. Like the Page of Wands, the Page of Cups is full of adventure and wonder. Highly-creative, he is also as pensive as the Hermit at times. This Page of Cups is telling Maribel to look outside herself, and to also look at her lover with new eyes. Is he giving you what you need? Let loose, have fun. Remember how to play again.

Serenity Bly adds: “The Page of Wands might be difficult to tie down but he will listen if she can communicate without blame. Yes, she needs to experience the Page of Cups first, introspection, look within herself for any issues she might have that are internal rather than external. When she’s come to terms with what she truly needs from him, talk to him about those needs because he has the fire and love to want to make her world beautiful and he will do everything in his power to make her happy.”

Hyna says:
“I’m unsure on how much info I need to tell you to get the most accurate reading. But anyway. My ex and I had been friends and neighbors since 2005. Then we became lovers around 2007 and everything went so fast from then. We move in together after just being bf/gf for 3months and it was fine at first but went downhill. We stopped living together but still tried to work things out. And still keep trying at this moment and just think its getting old and need some change. I just need some guidance. I love him and I think he feels the same way that’s why we keep going back and forth on this.”

Past Experience in Love

Page of Swords
This card shows how the relationship was tumultuous from the beginning. You were both young, full of fire and passion and adventure. This worked well for a time, as you had a fun relationship many people would envy, but when “real-life” set in, no one was the balancing aspect or the adult in the relationship.

Current Experience in Love

Knight of Pentacles
Currently, you’re ready for that adult relationship. You’re putting a lot of “work” into the relationship in the hopes it will change, but the key factor missing in this love reading, which is conspicuously lacking any cups and filled with swords and pentacles, is missing. It does not have to – should not – be this hard. That’s not to say relationships don’t take work — they do. But it’s work you should love doing because of your love for the person you’re with. That’s sorely lacking here. This has turned into – to continue the analogy – that job you work just for the paycheck, dreading every Monday morning when the alarm clock rings. It’s tedious.

Factors you’re not seeing currently

Three of Swords
You are ready for the break. He may not be, but you know, instinctually, that this is not a true love relationship and you deserve so much more. He’s scared to let you go. In the past few years, you’ve matured beyond him, both emotionally and as far as outside factors are concerned. You are living a different life than you were when you met him, and there may not be any place for him as a lover in your new world.

What you Need from a Love Relationship

Three of Pentacles
You need someone willing to work in the same way you are at a relationship. You can work really hard at something, but if you’re doing things incorrectly, you won’t get the outcome you desire. Or, you can work in the “right” way and things get easier. This is where you are now.

Your greatest strengths in a relationship/What you Offer

Four of Swords
You offer kindness, understanding, patience, and a balancing, adult influence on your partner. Additionally, this card shows that you are simply “tired” of working and fighting. It reiterates that you need a break.

Possible Future Outcome

Knight of Swords
If you continue as you are, this will end in a messy way, with you charging out of his life. On the other hand, if you heed the tarot’s advice and make a clean break, there’s a chance you’ll resurrect the friendship and remember the things you both enjoy about each other. In the future, I see another relationship that will begin, as this one did, as a firestorm of passion. Learn from the past and take it slowly to prevent repeating history.

I want to note a few significant aspects of this reading:

  1. All these Pages and Knights tell me you are still, emotionally, very young. Being young at heart (or even young in reality!) is admirable and wonderful – traits to hang onto. It’s okay if your ex is not the one for you. Take the youthful aspects of your personality and nurture them but remember it’s okay to grow up in certain ways, as well…I see you on the path to maturity and letting go of things and people in your life that aren’t working to make way for new ones is okay!
  2. The lack of Cups in this reading shows just how much this relationship has gone stale. Pentacles are the work cards, showing how much “work” this relationship has become, and swords represent the tumult within the relationship that I suspect was there from the start. At one point, it made things exciting. But one cannot live in a “Sword” mindset – always prepared for a fight – constantly. It becomes tiring and the Four of Swords (a need for rest and respite) is the result. I suspect you’re almost ready to live your next relationship from a “Cup” place, filled with love and understanding, but your ex isn’t there yet.
  3. The lack of major arcana cards in this reading tells me the decision is entirely in your hands. I know you will make the best choice for both of you, to preserve the friendship and to make way for better things in your life.

Serenity Says: I just want to add a quick word to Miss Michele’s deeply tuned reading. I get an impression from the swords and pentacles in this reading that a part of the struggles you’ve had in the past revolve around your sense of security. When in a relationship financial and material burdens are, in an ideal world, the shared responsibility of both partners. A lack of balance or support creates emotional dependence and a destroying sense of insecurity. In this reading, I get the impression you’ve felt this with your ex.

If you choose to step away from the relationship you’ll be giving yourself the opportunity to build a firm foundation of security and independence for yourself. When you can approach your relationships without feeling like you NEED your partner you’ll find yourself able to rejoice in the joy, the desire and wanting of the relationship. A relationship that is out of balance tends to need work through desperation. Where as, if you feel a sense of balance and security within the relationship the ‘work’ involved in making it work is inspired by passion.

Best wishes from the Future-Tarot team!

Friday, December 4th, 2009

A few months ago I asked the lovely Miss Michele to do my 2009, 12-Month Spread. I’ve had Miss Michele do these spreads for me a couple of times now and am always amazed in hindsight at how accurately they reflect the year’s activities. Looking back at April, May, and June 2009 I have to admit this reading is coming up with almost spooky accuracy. I just couldn’t resist sharing my reading with you.

In a long overdue 12-month, 13-card spread for my partner Serenity Bly (it’s the old shoemaker’s children situation!) Miss Michele has discovered that April 2009 is Serenity’s month to conquer the World. Whether that “world” is a video game, the blogosphere or some other endeavor, time will tell. But even better things are to come!

Overview: 2009 will be/is a year of learning and profit, during which time Serenity’s worst fears will be the stuff nightmares are made of. However, fearing and worrying is a waste of time as the worst will not materialize. (Ah, it so rarely does!) Serenity Bly takes time this year to learn how to manipulate her environment and hone her skills. She is studying, with an emphasis on the occult (well, go figure!) to get what she has a right to financially. (Don’t worry, dear readers, we’re not raising our rates here at Future-Tarot.) Serenity’s biggest worry will be working too hard. The word “possibilities” is literally whispering to Miss Michele during this reading.

April: The World

As already stated, April will present Serenity Bly with The World at her fingertips. Possibilities are ripe for, well, anything.

May: The Magician

By May, Serenity learns how to manipulate her environment and use the tools at her disposal to conquer the World, which presented itself in April. Although The Magician in Miss Michele’s preferred deck, Hanson-Roberts, is a man, Miss Michele detects a feminine energy in this card. It represents none other than the querent, who will use her intuition, intelligence and technical skills to keep her business going strong.

June: Seven of Pentacles

June brings additional emphasis on business and financial possibilities. With the Seven of Pentacles, she will begin to reap the rewards of several newly-launched passive income businesses and affiliate marketing Web sites, and will be afforded the opportunity to sit back and watch them grow. Just as things are taking off, now, she may consider a change of direction, as well.

July: King of Pentacles and Three of Swords

The King of Pentacles and Three of Swords stuck together during this reading to appear in July, leaving Miss Michele to draw one conclusion: a man will break Serenity’s heart. It will be someone she views as a mentor—perhaps even someone she meets in the business world. While it may not be a romantic encounter, the end result of a broken heart will sting as much as a love lost.

August: The Star

In August, The Star appears reminding Serenity of the power and strength of her intuition. There is a strong emphasis on the occult and, once again, great possibilities in front of her.

September: Six of Cups

The Six of Cups represents a joyful past. Serenity begins considering what she did right – in business and romance – in the past and begins longing for the way things were. What can she do to bring back elements of a happier time?

October: Eight of Pentacles

2009, for Serenity, is characterized by periods of learning and growth, followed by time to relax and enjoy those rewards. This continues with the Eight of Pentacles in October, when she may take a course or class, which will help grow her business further.

November: Judgment

And again, in November, she will rest to reap the rewards, this time characterized by the major arcane Judgment. She will be judged favorably by peers and may receive a cash settlement, related to real estate, an outstanding lawsuit, or money owed from a client.

December: Page of Swords

The Page of Swords comes bearing a message, and once again, the emphasis is on matters of business, learning and financial success. Serenity works hard to increase her intellect, but fears it is not enough. Pessimism rears its ugly head… the phrase for this hot Australian summer is: “This too shall pass.”

January: Ten of Swords

It all gets to be a bit too much come January, with the Ten of Swords heralding a forced rest. Two pages in the spread, along with the star and King of Pentacles may foretell of a pregnancy and, if that’s the case, there may be forced bed-rest in January. Otherwise an illness, or perhaps just sheer exhaustion, will force Serenity into a phase of withdrawal. She may feel as if all she wants to do is surrender to the Universe. Remember, Serenity, your state of mind is your worst enemy. Rely on your friends and support network to get you through… Change is around the corner!

February: Knight of Pentacles

Knights herald change, so the Knight of Pentacles reveals yet another change in financial status—once again, for the better. (Ah, the life of a freelancer.) Serenity’s health issues pass without serious incident, placing her in a position to face whatever the Universe will throw at her next. Perseverance and hard work prevail.

March: Page of Cups

The Page of Cups in March 2010 marks a birth… a literal (albeit slightly premature?) birth of a child, or birth of yet another business? The emphasis is on creative energy and growth—and exactly what Serenity needs at this point in her life.

Serenity, Miss Michele has tossed a lot at you in this spread. Please follow-up and let me know if you’d like clarification on any points.

Our one-year spread is always a big seller this time of year, and Tilanthis kicks it off with our first reading.

In 2008, he experienced a new job, a major move and several other life changes related to his associates and hobbies, predicted here by Miss Michele.

Let’s see what 2009 holds in store…

Overview: Looking at the year as a whole, by this time next year, Tilanthis will once again experience intense changes. His life will be very different. Lasting love was not in the cards in 2008, but January kicks off with a new love interest. The Hermit, the card for the year, indicates introspection and Tilanthis “reinventing” himself.

January: Queen of Pentacles: Tilanthis will meet a nurturing, strong-minded career women who complements him perfectly.

February: Three of Cups: This will be a honeymoon period (though not in the literal sense) for Tilanthis and his new love, marked by celebration, happiness and getting to know one another better.

March: Ace of Swords: Tilanthis faces a turning point in the relationship, when his lady’s strong wit and independence “cuts” him. There will be disagreements. It’s that magical “three-month mark” of a new relationship, and they will enter a new phase.

April: Three of Swords: March’s love problems may result in a break-up or broken heart. The combination of the Ace and Three of Swords indicates a rough spring for Tilanthis.

May: Five of Swords: May looks brighter as Tilanthis and his love interest begin talking again, but there are trust issues. Miss Michele would also like to introduce the possibility that this card doesn’t relate at all to his love relationship. Tilanthis’ “karmic debt” is that he attracts gossipers and backstabbing people. In 2009, he can begin to better deal with these personality types, taking the higher ground in all his relationships and also being more aware of this force in his life.

This assertion is supported by June’s card…
June: Nine of Wands: Tilanthis repeatedly finds himself in a game of one upmanship with people, but he will win by taking the higher ground.

July: Knight of Swords: Positive change comes in July with this Knight. Knights are action just beginning. Tilanthis is tired of sitting around waiting for what he wants to come to him. He takes initiative to go after it. However, in mid-year, he begins to lose his focus on all things romantic. Things come easily to him in career and social matters, but not in love. When it gets hard, he steps back and re-prioritizes his life.

But he’s taking some positive steps to get what he wants in Summer 2009, by going after it. Miss Michele keeps thinking of the phrase: “Storming the Castle.” But Tilanthis needs to learn balance between love and life.

August: Ace of Rods: The summer’s changes began violently, but by August, he begins to draw an effective plan, taking a systematic approach to his life changes. Miss Michele sees a new job or a promotion, or possibly even a new hobby and a whole new group of friends. Think lifestyle overhaul.

September: The Magician: This card has come up frequently in Miss Michele’s readings for Tilanthis, and is the first Major Arcana in this spread. Tilanthis will begin using his talents to the best of his abilities, taking on a leadership role or possibly even starting a new business endeavor. His networking abilities are effective and that is a key part of his life come the fall. In the spring, he felt restless and unfulfilled… he desires control, leadership and social activities and goes after them in the fall.

October: The Hanged Man: The second Major Arcana in this reading shows Tilanthis re-evaluating his life. He’s gotten what he thought he wanted, but is it really him? He tends to be a chameleon but, as such, has lost touch with his true self. The Hanged Man indicates a period of waiting in which Tilanthis looks at things from a different angle. He’s going to find a new life, new friends, new job or hobbies… but it’s really just what he had before, albeit with a fresh coat of paint. It’s not true change. Is it what he wants? Is this the path he’s destined to walk or is there something more, something different he can manifest?

November: The World: When Tilanthis makes the choice, the “World” is his for the taking.

December: Page of Rods: The Page of Rods in December shows Tilanthis looking at everything with a child’s eyes. With everything else in place, Tilanthis can once again begin his search for true love, opening his heart to the opportunities.

It’s going to be a significant fall and winter for Tilanthis. The overall theme for the year is indicated by the Hermit… it will be a year of introspection which will benefit Tilanthis come year’s end.

Please come back and tell us how the Tarot’s observations manifest!

Hi Miss Michele,
You have been recommended to me, as I am interested in a receiving a 3 card free Tarot Reading.
My name is Stephanie and I am 53. I feel particularly unsettled at the moment and would like some guidence. Do you need any other details about me?
Cheers,
Stephanie

Let’s see what the cards have to say, Stephanie. That should be enough information to give you some insight into your situation. But Miss Michele is wondering who offered the recommendation. Can you say?

Unsettled, indeed!! The first card, in the past, is the Three of Swords. This card typical indicates a romantic break-up, but it can also indicate another great loss–children leaving for college (empty nest syndrome), loss of a job, family, best friend… perhaps a move that has taken you away from family, friends and everything you love? Whatever the specifics of the situation, the emotions are running strong. You’ve hit rock bottom with this somewhat unexpected change. Even if you saw it coming, it was worse than you imagined it would be.

The next card, the Nine of Pentacles, shows your need to be self-reliant now. At the same time, you are trying to get in touch with your nurturing side again–with no one left to nurture. However, you WILL find peace and will realize you CAN make it alone. Changing your personal space, with home renovations (however small) can help. You may also be undergoing a professional endeavor where you are working for yourself and doing very well…but that doesn’t alleviate the loneliness.

The Final Outcome, I’m sorry to say, shows more of the same for a while… the Two of Swords shows you are at an impasse. A reconciliation may be possible, but first, you
must remove the blindfold from your eyes and see the truth. Accept things as what they are, not what you wish they could be, and you will be free to move forward. A truce *is* possible, but you must first face the storm. You have a very nurturing soft side, don’t be afraid to let it out right now. Yes, that has hurt you in the past, but it’s worth the risk. You will solve this matter through heart, not intellect.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can clarify further. I hope this helps. My thoughts are with you.

Empower Your Future: The Secret Abundance Files
